:]
Cowboy,
You already know that I am interested in friendship only...so, your co-worker need not worry...
The most important thing to me is acceptance from a man...
Men have always been attracted to me physically, but some in the past have made me feel that they would like me to be dumber than I am (in other words, not "show them up"), and in general I have often felt a judgemental attitude regarding women that makes me nervous...as if we are "lesser beings"...
My best male friend makes me never worry if I outsmart him or if I say something silly or stupid (hard to believe I could, huh?!) I can really open up and be myself...I am the most comfortable with him than any other man I have known...
(I do, of course, periodically remind him that I am amazing, intelligent, and wonderful...and he is smart enough to agree with me!!...It's sort of a running joke, actually...)
I guess one of the most important things that he does is that he REALLY listens to me...not just "uh huh" pretend listening...but active listening, and because of this he remembers the names of my family and friends...even ones he hasn't met yet...and when I tell a story, he doesn't act like..."yeah, yeah, whatever"...he likes to listen to me...
Of course, I listen to him too...
But, he really makes me feel special to him that he invests listening time like he does...
I think someday I'm gonna ask that boy to marry me...
I told his Mom that if we were still friends and single in 30 years, I would...but, I'm thinkin' I may not wait that long...
All in all, he is just very thoughtful...he gives me small thoughtful gifts now and then...
It's not all in the opening of doors and spending money that count...it is really making a woman feel like she matters to you...and to me that is the simple things...like listening, a gentle touch on the back, bringing her a cup of coffee when getting one for yourself...
That's how it is for me anyway...

Oh, and another thing that is a biggy...is not getting bent out of shape over little things or uncontrollable things...
Like, don't make a woman feel like it is her fault that she got a flat tire...
My Dad is a number one jerk...my Mom still doesn't stand up to him...but, I do...
It is amazing how it has changed my relationship with him and with other men...
My Dad seems to respect me when I tell him to knock it off! And, my relationships with other men improved also...
Funny how that works...
It took me years to get up the nerve to say the things I now say to him...but, after the first time, it was easy...
Just wish I could have learned that earlier in my life!!
Take Care.

You got it going on bell. :]
PS. I let my daughter push me around a lot hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa but she does have her say and I learned that a lady does have a mind and this old cowboy just loves two learn anything new. ;]
You really do have it going on, Belle! I don't know how old you are, but it sure sounds like you've got good head on your shoulders. I wouldn't let that man wait around for 30 years though. Too much time could be wasted when too many memories could be made! I also used to have a very good male friend, who would listen to me, sympathize with me, advise me, etc..., but he hooked up with a lady that developed a jealousy towards me so he chose his relationship with her over his friendship with me. That's okay. I just hope he's happy. Maybe someday he & I can talk again. Whatever u do, embrace it with all the goodness that life provides.
[wink] and one big [grin]
