I didnt Zen. I believe her tomb is in the St. Louis cemetary.I didnt get to see her house either. I'm planning on going again I enjoyed the city and as you can see the food 😛
Oh yeah I love the atmosphere outside of Bourbon at least. The workers in the restaurants and bars are pretty angry...I guess thats b/c there tired of drunken idiots. I wouldn't mind living in the cool old mansions, those homes were old and beautiful.
As for Mardi Gras itself I saw a lot of boob-age and the entire bead processing is pretty demeaning, for ladies at least. Men are just handed beads, but women have to "work". ...and no I didnt flash although I was accosted, propositioned, barked at (yes, like a dog), and had to damn near do the matrix while dodging a drunk homeless looking man on the street from kissing me.... he literary jumped out of nowhere 😕
The concierge offered to strip for me and trids. to follow me up to my room.
Mardi gras weekend is officially this weekend, so the crowds will be crazy this week. I couldn't go this weekend b/c of prior engagements, but I dont think I would've enjoyed the crowds. The hotel guy said this was the better weekend. I enjoyed the other site
Lady M ~ I went last year for the first time to New Orleans, and man was it fun, went by myself and had a blast! I loved the War Museam it was great, spent a whole day in there, but then again, i love history and always had major interest in WWII.
