Ascendant Conjunct Sun

You have a great desire for recognition and are creative in finding ways to gain attention. You may be so satisfied with your own ego and identity that you fail to recognize how much these same elements mean to those you deal with. In general you are uncompromising because you fear that otherwise you may be required to submit to another''s authority. But you have great faith in your ability to rise above any of life''s negative circumstances. You know how to use your vast creative resources in a direct assault against any adversary, and you believe that eventually you will succeed.

Most often you do, but when challenged by stiff competition and unsure of the outcome, you will resort to brute force to demonstrate that you do not give in without a fight. You know how to win friends and influence people, and you use this talent effectively. In spite of this gift, however, you are surprised to find that some people are not easy to win over, and this bothers you. To be truly comfortable in your profession you need to have a position of some authority over others.

Your personality stands out and you have the ability to be psychologically forceful when necessary. Since you were born at sunrise, you are indeed the early bird and usually have your choice of desirable partners when there is competition. You tend to dominate a relationship, not from a need or desire to have control, but simply through the strength of your presence. To this extent you should make an effort to be modest or even retiring at times so that people will not find your natural style overbearing.

Your talent for selling yourself will allow you to get your way, but you should use this talent with respect, not abuse it. You should try to convince someone only about matters that are really important, not about anything that comes up just to exercise your abilities. You have the potential to be either a vibrant glowing personality or a crashing bore, depending on how wisely you use this gift. Thus in seeking a partner, do not make conquests gratuitously; instead pursue only someone who has special appeal, who presents real potential for a creative relationship. This will mean the difference between having a reputation as a desirable partner who has successful affairs and a person who simply collects lovers.

Sun conjunct Ascendant [Or resident in the First House].

You are likely to have a strong influence on other people, whether you are aware of this or not. This placement usually conveys the benefits of a radiant personality. You have the potential and the capacity to shine and stand out in life, which provides you with a wonderful opportunity to make the most of your talents and skills. You will need to bear in mind that this can be used to your advantage, but be careful not to allow this quality to make you overbearing, arrogant and self centred, which is always a strong possibility if not watched carefully. With the Sun in such a prominent position, this often makes for somewhat of an powerful nature and one that has the potential to go far in life.

With this cautionary note it is highly likely that you will make a big impact upon most people that you meet, and should be quite capable of rising to whatever challenge is presented to you in life. You are born to take the initiative, be the leader, be adventurous and pioneer un-chartered territories of life. It is through such activities that you are likely to make the most of your potential in this life. You may like to play centre stage at times, which is all very well, provided that you are always mindful of the rest of the cast, and the significance of their roles as well as your own.

Sun conjunct the Ascendant
These people make a strong personal impression. Others tend to see them as confident people, or as leaders of some sort. This is because they project strength. Of course, this strong impression can rub some people the wrong way. These people are noticeable and very aware of how they come across to others.

Sun rising people tend to believe that they are in control of their destiny. They usually don't believe in fate, and they'll take any pessimistic comments that come their way as personal challenges. In fact, this concept extends to other areas of life--they prefer to lead rather than follow, and are usually most comfortable in situations where they have the freedom to do so. They identify strongly with the image they project, and they usually prefer to be viewed as capable individuals. Children with this aspect may appear to be older than their years.

If the Sun is in the 12th house and conjunct the Ascendant, the desire to lead and to be noticed is great, but there may be some teetering when it comes to actually expressing these desires. These people may be inclined to daydream a lot about being awe-inspiring leaders, or the center of attention, but there can be much self-consciousness and some reluctance to actually throw themselves into the spotlight. Over time, they might find ways to get the attention or the position of importance they crave in indirect and/or creative ways.

You express your conscious will in a natural and open manner, the more so if your Ascendant is in the same sign as the Sun. This means that your aims are clear for all to see, which has the advantage that you project yourself honestly, indeed you are likely to attract notice as soon as you enter a room. However, you may find it hard to disguise a natural wish to be the centre of attention, which others may come to resent if you appear to hog the limelight. Still, others will respect your forthrightness and naive honesty, provided they also sense that you also allow them their place too. To make the best of the advantages given by your ability to be direct, you need to ensure that you develop other sides to your personality as well.

Sun in the First House
The Sun is in the first house. You are by nature energetic, proud and self-assertive. You project yourself enthusiastically and energetically into all situations. Your naturally outgoing disposition and personable manner usually make a good impression on people.

Your heightened self-perception puts you in touch with a strong sense of will, and you can manipulate your will to suit your aims and desires in life. This position of the Sun gives the capacity for leadership, for you tend to attract people and to have a strong influence on them when they are with you.

You do not like to depend on others, but you hold on to your friends, for they are usually pleased to help you when you need it. You are willing to help close friends who are deserving, but only if you know that your efforts will be appreciated.

You often prefer to work alone. However, this is not your only choice, for you adapt well to working with people as long as you are free to express yourself. With a first-house Sun, there is a tendency to overestimate your own worth, but through repeated contacts with others you will inevitably come to a more realistic appraisal of your abilities and potential.

oh GAWD nefer!?!?!! no way—?

i'm sun conjunct rising but the degree isn't significant. so not sure how that plays? i identified with all the above though.

and minotaur, nothing insecure about this combo at all. in fact, it's the opposite of insecure which is the point. there's a sense of knowing exactly who you are and what you're about. so much so that it can come across as arrogance.
