I guess this one's going to just be...

I'd like to know if anyone else is feeling the way that I do.

Briefly, I'm dealing with anger management issues.

Can anyone relate?
Generally, my moods come and go in sudden burst- A) I'm either flat out-cold, and choose to exist in my own world with my doors locked to anyone else, B) I'm highly productive and creative, and in a good mood.

Why? I like it that way, but why do I drive myself crazy in the process. I'd like to control my mood swings a little better than I'm doing now guys.

Does anyone have any iinsight or suggestions on this? Is this a Libra thing, or am I just a psycho?

If this helps, I'm Libra with Scorpio.

You say your dealing with anger management. Has that given you any insight? How about talking to a pro. Why does it bother you so much (mood swings)? or does it bother others? Do what you have to do.

I have been told that most creative people are exactly this way. Why? I don't know. Wired differently, I suppose. If they were to alter this, perhaps they would suppress the very thing that makes them creative. With some it's substance abuse or it could be hormonal or it could be your more sensetive to your environment and the people in it? You were designed the way you are. Each of us are different and unique. Unless you are a danger to yourself or others, I wouldn't change your basic personality to suit someone else.

They called Shakespere, Allcott, Melvin, Dickens, DeAngelo, VanGogh, Twain,Warhol, and Jesus Christ psychos, so your in pretty good company!!!

"I'm not a psychiatrist or suggesting you need one but, it sounds like what is known as ?depressed mood or bi-polar? to whatever degree."

You just contradicted yourself! They(original poster) didn't sound depressed at all to me. They sounded very up and direct and know who they are, but they have mood swings. They were wondering why they beat themselves up for it. I would say because others put expectations on her/him. That is why I said--do what you have to do. Your're the only one you need to please.

Psychiatry has only been around since a little before world war two. No one really knows or understands much about the human mind, not even shrinks.

I would say it again, medicine for people who are a danger to themselves or others. Should be a last resort though!

Better nutrition, exercise both physical and mental, meditation and prayer could also be helpful.

Even before you mentioned that you were Libra with Scorpio--I thought to myself if you had any Scorp in you. I think this may play a role and there's not a lot that you can do....also, and I am not being judgemental here but, do you think you may have a bout of depression? Real depression brings on mood swings. You could see a doctor--also look up this symptom on the internet--there's all kinds of medical info you can get off the web these days.

Sloane,

With all due respect, this is not a time to bring zodiac signs into the realm of the conversation. This person is seeking advice for something that has nothing at all to do with astrology! Never give advice for such a serious issue with such a broad stoke of the brush!!!!

Original poster, if you feel your problems are running your life and your out of control and in a place that is uncontrolable...PLEASE CALL A FAMILY DOCTOR OR A SPECIALIST! You are not gonna find a solution for your specific problems with an astrology messageboard. These are only laymen opinions and to sum it up real quickly, THEY AREN'T WORTH A CRAP!!!! Talk to a professional, this is why they went to school for 12+ years!!!

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm the original poster, and I have read and appreciate all of your responses. I don't feel depressed at all, but I do have a quite a time dealing with stress. I am an architect by profession, so I am constantly under pressure, and I'm also studying for another degree. I usually deal with it by pulling away from everyone briefly for some "me" time from time to time just to re-energize and to vent a little. I do have good and bad days, but I think that it is just a part of life for everyone. I probably just need a vice so that I can vent more. I wanted to know if pulling away, (detachment) is common to other people when dealing with stress too. I would sure love some more time for myself=)
I hope you are all having a wonderful week!... and thanx again for all of your comments- I really feel the support!

216,
Now that you have explained what you do for a living and your goals, I can completely understand how you have been feeling. I think it is totally normal for you to feel this kind of stress--even going to school let alone can feel challenging. I have worked with architects before and I can say from experience that it just so happens to be a demanding occupation, but, also very rewarding. If you can get some time to yourself at ANY time, I think it would be helpful for you. And don't feel guilty.

Pat yourself on the back. You're challenging a great deal right now and that only means you'll be ready to take the bull by the horns ever more so when you're done with school. I think your employer will agree too.
Cheers,
Sloane

Yo 216.164.119.64...

When ever you're ready baby! Hey you know how us "single" travellers get raped don't ya? They have the BB's to charge us as if we were 2 people...AND THEY DO!

If you've never been there 216 you'll LOVE IT! It's beautiful. This however is not the time to go. It's hotter than Hades right now. And then in Sept. Oct. it's the rainy season :o(

But come the end of Oct and until about May it's just MUY HERMOSA!!!! (Very Beautiful!) It's SPRING! The whole pace is transformed. Mexico IMO is THE MOST beautiful place on this planet! I've explored the entire coastal areas w/the exception of the Southern Central region being Ixtapa and the surrounding towns. But like I said Ixtapa IS THE PARTY PLACE and then one recoops in Zihuatanejo while the 24/7 room service brings you Margaritas while your behind is in a hammock!!! Sounds good huh #216—

Hey if you really want to go I'm very easy going and we can definitely split the cost. Post your e-mail or a way to get in touch with you! Afterall why should one person be charged for the price of 2? And if that's the case why not split it with someone—

The sunsets in glorious Mexico would make you cry. What a beautiful country! Although I was born in a foreign country (Europe) I have not been back to my own country. I have on the other hand lived in Mexico literally! I definitely think that I have lived there ALL MY LIFE and it's the number one reason why I choose to vacation, get my GROOVE BACK, & CHILL OUT there!

Post an e-mail. I am definitely GAME Hombre! Are you feeling like a HUNTER—??

Where you from 216? If Europe, if at all..what part? I seldom if ever get to meet ANYONE from where I was born!

Now about that "time" stuff you mentioned regarding the cause of you not be able to get away. Remember you have to make time FOR YOU! Ain't no one else gonna do for you. Sounds like you could use some time off ANYWHERE right about now BTW!

Hang in there like I said. Afterall it's only 2 months of rain! LOL

Hope you're feeling better and not "so alone" anymore? There's a whole planet full of US' on this planet! The trick is finding an escape FROM THIS PLANET!!!

To 216,
I agree with 205, that most creative people act this way. Why should you have to change. If you lose what you call your 'anger' then you may lose your edge. It sounds like you have excess energy, you would know better than me but dont feel guilty for being powerful and full of energy. Too many of us get caught up in that. When i was a child my mum used to repress me all the time, put me down, call me names but now i realise she was threatened by my power as i was always a powerful child. She once told me i was 'hard to handle', when all i was (in my eyes) was an extremely energetic and creative child who knew her own mind.

If you have this kind of creative energy and you are not using it, it will manifest itself in destructiveness and anger. These are only my opinions but it would be a shame for you to lose your 'edge' in life; the thing that makes you you.

Anyways, my advice for the frustrated and angry is to excercise more and to cut down on caffiene and sugar.

Hello again... actually no, I'm not from Europe. My roommate however, moved from South London a few years ago. Is that near where you're from? I'm originally from The Northern Caribbean. I relocated about four years ago to another area and stayed put ever since. And absolutely... I can definately use a vacation some time soon, but I think I'd like to go and visit my father whenever I get an opportunity, 'cause I'm owing him a visit soon, but I am charmed to say the least, by your generousity. Your advice and your posts always makes me smile,
so to you, this time--it's keep on smiling-- from me.

To the original poster, yes, it is completely normal for you to be feeling these things! I am a Scorpio and I ALWAYS feel moody, pull away, come back, feel fine, and repeat the cycle. Call me weird, but your "symptoms" sound completely normal to me. I just call it someone's personality if they're moody and reticent before bouncing back and feeling fine. Of course if your moods are swinging back and forth between extremes, go talk to a counselor or psychologist/psychiatrist. But I think our society really does our collective unconscious as well as our individual spirits a disservice by making it seem as though if you're anything but "happy" and "well-adjusted", you need a pill or a support group. Personally, I think that happiness is mostly a fleeting and momentary feeling or state of mind, that everyone experiences sometimes, but nobody experiences all the time. Some people really do need pills or support groups, but I don't get that feeling from you. It's okay to feel crappy, mean and anti-social at times; just as long as nobody gets hurt as a result.

Hugs,
Heather

Pheonix, you have hit the nail on the head. That is exactly how I behave. Sometimes I can surprize myself at how deep and dark my emotions run, and even more so that I am quite content to exist in my own private dark, quiet place until I recollect myself. This sounds weird and scary to even me too- but hey... it seems to work. I think my Libran influences help me tons in mellowing out though, so I know when to retreat and chill out.
No one else feels the brunt of my smouldering emotions, and I do keep that big raging "R" complex in check.=)

Love you Heather and keep in touch.
