Cancer Messiness?

How do I deal or confront your messiness?
I live with a Cancer and he is just fucking messy.
When I speak to him rationally he gets super defensive and dismissive.
So I have to get firm and pissed and then he gets emotional.
Can you just pick up after yourself? The dude says I don't communicate well...but do you have to tell someone to pour out your rotten milk before you throw it away? Or not put your rotting chicken on the balcony, and instead in the trash so I don't have to smell it.
I'm at my last straw, because the guy put spoiled meat on my balcony, and before that would put his garbage on the balcony so he wouldn't have to smell that, like that is a normal thing to do...wtf?!?!
And btw, the balcony is attached to my room.
Seriously, how do you get through to a cancer on the messiness? Should I just tell him he can't use my garbage and has to get his own trash and we each keep it our rooms? That way he doesn't export his smelly shit into my living space?
Does that work? Or would that hurt his feelings?

I guess my Sagittarius is not that bad, then. I used to be like that when I was younger.

Yes, we're messy. But we're not filthy, and we know where everything is. If we lose something, it's because someone else moved it 😉

I'm not messy,. I'm OCD!!!!! maybe its my Virgo rising ?? LOL
