cancer's sensitivity is much more local......love interests, close friends, close families........those who may share a similar ideology....sometimes religion, cause, or even ethnic group...whomever we feel strongly connected to. Pisces' sensitivity is much more universal...it doesn't matter who or what, they feel him/her/it.....a cancer could care less if you live or died if you stand outside our most preferred circles of concern. At the same time, cancer concern within that circle is much more intense than pisces' universal concern, making us more protective. They both have a place and compliment well...will usually agree on social matters but not on scope.....Cancer will want Plan A for "just our group---screw everyone else"....Pisces will want Plan A for all.....

"I don't think this is true at all, at least not for me. I am a Cancer and can empathize greatly with anyone dealing with pain, not just people I have direct contact with. I also have moon in Aquarius, which is a very humanitarian sign, so maybe that comes into play."

yeah I'm sure your aquarius is at play, which is similar to pisces.....also you may be a cancer that looks at all PEOPLE as connected to you, the "we are all in this together" outlook. Whoever the cancer defines as "in their group". Not every individual will define this the same way. If a cancer rises to prominence of an organization such as the KKK or neo-nazi's, etc., WATCH OUT....there will be NO MERCY on whom they perceive as the energy. If a cancer views all humans as a brotherhood, then this won't be a problem. However, they will have little mercy on people who they think are bad for mankind because in that cancer's frame of reference its mankind as a whole that needs to be preserved and protected not just one group. Same cancer concept, 2 different examples of how it plays out depending on outlook.
