Children

Is this a Cap's biggest fear? My Cap friend said he did not want children because they don't listen. I have heard this before and then the convo leads back to school or work. Can he not deal with children (he has none) or can he not deal with children with me?

I always said that I like children... from the age of 12. When you can finally reason with them.

But I do enjoy playing with children and I have had plenty of people tell me I would probably be a good dad and even a few ask me if I already had children, seeing as I was really good with keeping theirs happy and in check. 😛

I am not completely sold on children myself, but I am not against them. He just seems caught in the fact that they will be disobedient and uncontrolable. However I believe if mom and dad work together, give the child good spiritual (moral)food, develop a skill in them and be honest examples, a good disciplinarians, the child has a very good chance to make it, despite this warpped society.

Unfortunately, the Cap seems a bit immature for sum dicussions. I thought u fellows were mature past 40.

I like kids but I personally do not want any. My fear is that I would be too strict and I'm old school. Those old school values don't seem to work too well nowadays. Lol. HOnestly, I just don't want that kind of responsibility which is my own personal choice. I can't tell you how many women look at me in disgust when I tell them that not every woman wants children.

I wouldn't take that personal. I think he is thinking about himself period. A lot kids don't listen and that alone would be hard to deal with I suspect. I know any man that I date will most likely have kids already so there is no need for me to have any. 😉

I think everyone is different and their background, life experiences and tolerance/patience levels makes a difference as well as where they are in their career path. Kids take A LOT of personal sacrifice and it's very expensive to raise a child now days.

Make sure the selfish period is over before you even think about having kids. I don't mean that in a bad way, but when you're ready to stop going out, are at a stable place in your career and have the ability to dedicate the time, expense and devotion to a child, then you're ready to have kids.

Personally, I've never been comfortable around any kids except my own. I think the reason is I wasn't raised around a bunch of kids. I've always been more comfortable around the geriatric set than the toddler set. Spent more time around the old timer's -- that's my life experience.

Plus, it's a lot of pressure hoping you're raising them the right way. You have to worry about their growth and develop, proper feeding and care, their self esteem, their values, their religion, their social skills, their academics, their life lessons, their activities, their homework, their ability to control their temper, that they learn respect and dignity and how to treat other people, their manners, their health, and the list goes on. THEN, they become teens and what are they doing? 🙂
