My Major (Appiled Biotech )

Happy 4th Everyone 🙂

The fireworks are suppose to start in about 1.5 hours, so instead of indulging in food and beverage ... I'll engage myself in my field of study 🙂

My interest in biotechnology keeps expanding far beyond the realms of academia! It the manipulation of organisms to do practical things -- such as phytoremediation, which is the treatment of environmental problems through the use of plants. *** I'm still considering on doing my thesis on this type of bioremdiation ***

When I discovered that biotechnology was connected to nanotechnology, then I became forever intrigued. Nanotechnology manipulates material on the nanoscale.Also, NASA nanotech (well,molecular nanotechnology) research group are exploring ways that nanos can be used to advance the exploration and human habitation of space (YES!!!). IBM is doing pathbreaking research to revolutionize computing -- storing one bit in a few atoms no longer seems impossible, and molecular switches will be used instead of optical lithography.

OOOOPS! I gave way too much info ... this stuff really gets me going 😉

Well, I'm excited about computer software in the up and coming years. The more developed nanothech becomes, the better PC operating systems will be .... OOOOOOO exciting 🙂

You are right, bioinformatics is coming up but that's more on the line of system biology. LOL, I don't know too much about that myself ^_^.

I do know that people often get it confused with computational evolutionary biology -- which is sort of different .... LOL, look at me, I'm attempting to undertand computer science ^_^.

That's if the government lets the essence of nanotech develop ... they have this odd belief that nanos will be horrible for the future of human kind. It's the same with stem cell research .....

OOO I've confused you Mr.B, let me explain -- comp.Evo.Bio. uses computer software that is specialized in improving equations, algorithms, or integrated circuit designs.

I don't know ... it odd to me really. Somethings having to do with the principles of evolution .

OOO ask me all the questions you want on it. I was writing a paper the had elements to CEB, but I didn't get a chance to impliment everything 😢

They are also using nanos with the development of new drugs for cancer treatment -- I think beta blockers will be intergrated with nanos to stop the increase of cancer cells that producing "bad" protien ....

Why do they? I have no idea —? Maybe it's because display our brains inside are tits and azz 😛

I was just J/K about the nutcase comment. We can definately find men that are compatible with us, love us, and treat us with kindness and respect. It's just one big damn journey we all have to go through ... weeding out the idoits from the average joes 🙂

We are diamonds my dear because choose to attempt to go the distance instead of letting our brains go to waste because we want to boost some man's ego. Yes, we are diamonds and it wrong for men to treat us like glass.

lol in my company, we have divisions in nanotechnology and bioinformatics

in nanotech division, they are researching a new way about how to make a super micro integrated circuit, sensor and actuator (motor), but not much improvement in this division till now...they predict, their research will be completed in 2010-2012

if their research are success, the first thing they are going to build is a micro robot that can be injected in human body to destroy cancer cells or other diseases.

in bioinformatic division, their research is more into "behavior system" and "swarm based system", using multiple 'simple' agents to solve one complicated task, the basic idea is from examining how ant/bee/other animals work

people in this division are developing a soccer robot and other similiar stuff, they also develop alot of algorithms, so it can be used by another divisions

My division is in "Control & automation"......thats mean i have to make any stuff from manual to automatic, from dumb to intelligent, from unstable to stable etc

Oh dear 😢 I know CallMeARW ... it sucks but we have to stop and wait, stop and wait, stop and wait AHHH!!! It's frustrating.

YES! I heard about that 🙂 They're also looking into at using nanos to manipulate white blood cells. As a result, this will deplete the HIV viruses and it cannot turn into Aids 🙂 OH YEAH!
