Pls help figure out why I hate her

Hate is a strong word but I've been trying to like my mom in law for 8 years and she gets even more and more annoying with age. Is it because of our signs? Any insight is appreciated.

I get along with most people. She, in particular, drains me.

She likes me but deep down I don't like her. I bottle it up inside and just tolerate her. I find her to be a horrible person that puts other people down or makes them feel inadequate. She doesn't listen, cuts people off all the time, talks about herself like she's God's gift on earth and just criticizes and complains about everyone. She doesn't know how to pay people a compliment. She's a "poser"; she tells people she cleans, reads the paper etc. in this confident, proud way, but she is very messy, aloof and uninformed because she just doesn't do anything and let herself go such a long time ago. I'd appreciate if she was more honest with people and with herself and didn't act like a know it all, because she's uninformed and often stubborn to listen and learn. I'd feel more sympathy towards her if she was more genuine.

my relatives have stressed that I'm her favorite in law, perhaps because I'm the one that helps out the most and goes out of my way. To her face, I'm very respectful, so I don't think she's even aware I feel this way inside.

That's why this bothers me. Because I wish I didn't loathe my interactions with her. Trust me, I've tried for years to genuinely enjoy her company, but I always feel tormented by her.

I always feel like she does these underhanded insults or slights toward me, but it could be her careless libra comments vs. my over sensitive cancer.
