For as long as I've been having my periods (10years old) I've been breaking out everywhere. Of course, there was the face acne, and then the back acne. These things cleared up as I came into adulthood. But there were some breakouts that started while I was a teenager that are more rash like. Little red bumps, sometimes with with white tips. The ones on my arms are usually caused by the sun when I spend too much time under it with no sun block. It only got really bad one summer. Itchy, looked like chicken pox. I've learned to manage this though.
The worst is the rash on my behind and back thighs. It's never been a terrible problem in the past. During the summer I started wearing more shorts and skirts (I've always been insecure about my really thick legs and knees), tried to get as much tanning as possible. It was probably the clearest my thighs have ever been! But now, with the colder days, I can't really continue wearing shorts and skirts and for some reason I'm getting more painful pumps. Some also itchy. I can't pin point what I'm doing to cause it. I can't really afford to go see a doctor either. It's really embarrassed and I'm tired of these breakouts. I really want to know how some girls have such smooth gorgeous skin!
...go to a dermatologist. Save up money, go to a free/low cost/sliding scale clinic, or talk to them about a payment plan or something. DXP will not solve this problem for you. Everyone has different genes, thus different genetic variables involved in why your skin does what it does.
You could have some sort of eczema, rosacea, or whatever skin condition for all you know and it wouldn't fall under "beauty" either. I wouldn't be surprised if you had something similar to these skin conditions. I had a friend who had eczema and the best way to control it was by going to the tanning bed. Tanning helped keep it under control.
I used to get mystery rashes. These same rashes were rampant in my old workplace, and no one could figure out why. Much later, a friend explained xenostrogens to me. These are environmental estrogens that we put on our bodies (which can't tell the difference between your own estrogen and the estrogen flooding your system) and cause hormonal overload.
Most people know about the estrogens found in parabens, but are unaware that everyday plants are also estrogenic. These plants are used in "healthy", organic, paraben-free personal products, and include lavender, tea tree, chamomile, and rosemary, to name a few.
Estrogens are in our laundry detergent, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, nail polish, and just about everything else.
I cut these out of my life because I was promised that my PMDD would subside. It took about 3 months to readjust my system, but my hormone-imbalance troubles (including the PMDD and mystery rashes) went away.
Now, back to my coworkers. We were slathering oils all over our hands and arms all day long, and these oils contained high amounts of lavender and rosemary, as well as numerous other estrogens. So, there you go.
I recently helped a client who had had mystery eczema for years. It turns out, she was crazy about lavender. She rubbed lavender lotion all over her body several times per day, had lavender detergent and soap, and slept with a lavender sachet under her pillow. Since she cut it out just a month ago, her rash is nearly gone.
I'm getting kind of tired of giving out this information, because practically no one pays any attention to it, but if you're serious about being sick of living with this rash then it's worth it to do your research on xenostrogens.
Thank you so much for the information! I'll definitely look into this because I'm so tired of this rash. If this doesn't work than I'll have no choice but to find myself a doctor. Thanks again!
