expression of emotions through art of any medium: visual arts, music, theatre, etc.

agreed. If i am inlove i will feel a lil thrown off by it of course because it's rare for me to do so. Idk if it's just me or all the gems. But i express it through poetry ,music as gemtaur said. & if i find myself gazing at that person for a long time & it's hard to look away, that's usually a BIG sign of me being in love.

So,i wana knw. Have u,as a gem, ever been inlove? And hw long did it take u to fall inlove wth that person? Lastly, how do u express ur feelings? Ur deepest emotions. Thank y3wz

i've been married for over 12 yrs, so i hope i'm in love. LOL

took me about 1 year, and being away from my BF (now my husband) for 6 weeks when i was on a clinical out west.
that sucked. there is truth to distance making the heart grow fonder.

i express my emotions differently to different people. if you're a friend, i'm usually glad to see you and always trying to make you laugh and pick you up if you're down. i want you to know that i care.

if you're closer than a friend, i try to be empathetic and caring around you, along with the previous mentioned emotions.
if i show too much intimacy, then it's dangerous and i don't want to cross those lines.

with my husband, i love to make him laugh, do nice things for him, give him great massages, turn him on mentally and physically when it's apropos. guys are happy when you make them feel great. but guys become in love when they know you're
happy first; combined, it's total love.

Wow, now you're living dangerously KS. just be yourself. we're all unique and bring something special to the table. I think most women, not just gems, miss their guy when he is gone or they are away from him for sometime. for me, the distance, 1,500 miles, and time away (6 weeks) was actually a blessing in disguise. He flew home my BF, leaving me crying at the window as his plane taxied down the runway. But I knew just a couple days after that he was "the guy" and I was going to marry him. I know while I was gone, he was feeling the same. His parents said he was a pain to be around and thrilled when I walked into their home.

I think there is a huge difference between loving someone and being "in love" with someone, I have only been in love once many years ago, and never did I stop loving him even after we had parted. It takes a lot for me to fall in love, but when I do it's something that last forever.

I agree that there is a distinction. There are those that I've fallen in love with in the past and, really, I still haven't figured out what it takes to get me there. It's just like one day, you wake up and uh-oh, you know this guy has gotten under your skin. And it's really uh-oh for me because you know that once you're there, once you've fallen for someone, you have to go through the whole nine yards. It's a process. You've fallen in it and you know you've got to see it through. If it works, well and good. If it doesn't then you have to go through the whole falling out of it process -- and we all know how that sucks.

Still and all, not all of those I've been in love with have transformed into a deeper sense of love. For some, there is only fondness left. There is only one person that I've fallen in love and parted with that I've been able to do that -- that I still love him but know I'm not in love with him and he was the one who hurt me the most. I don't think I will ever stop loving him that way but this is something that's kind of hard to explain to current partners. So my policy is don't ask, don't tell when it comes to that. But that guy will always have a place in my heart.

Friends always ask me, if things were different and all systems were a go, would I take him back? My answer would be no. I love him but I'm not in love with him. Besides, all things considered, I love myself more. (Hmmm... come to think of it, I did tell him that to his face, haha).

I can relate to the uh-oh feeling, since I am so guarded with my heart that when I realized I was "in love" it was just sort of scary (probably didn't help that we were very young then tho)...since then I have dated and sure there was love for a few of them, but not enough to say I was in love with them. Also it takes me awhile to let my guard down, to feel like I know the other person well enough to say I love them. As for how we express it, you'll know...I will shower them with compliments, go out of my way to do things for them and make time for them (which is a big deal for me since my time is precious and it's drives me bonkers if I feel it's being wasted), I'm affectionate...there really won't be any question as to how I am feeling since once I am there and I trust you, I'll wear my heart on my sleeve. Also I am a natural flirt, majority of time I don't realize I am flirting, but I am very loyal, never cheated and never will.
