Big big thing. Don't cage your child. Work with their independence. Cage em and you will experience hell on earth. Just from my own childhood experience.

This. As a Leo mom with a Leo daughter (almost 10 years old), I find what she needs and craves most from me are explanations, and my full awareness and open mindedness on the subject she is talking about - not just intellectually, but emotionally and spiritually as well. She has a ton of questions about everything, and not just out of curiosity, but because she is always striving to achieve something. Whether it's an idea for a new art project, a solution to a puzzling existential issue (she is insatiably curious about death and the mystery of it, not in an entirely fearful way), or whatever, she is always asking. And perhaps all children are like this, but I find my Leo girl to be extra sensitive underneath her independence, and that reflects in the way she utilizes the information I give her. She takes everything deeply to heart, every little thing I say. So I think all they really need is to be encouraged thoroughly in whatever it is their minds and hearts are reaching for. Also spoken to almost as adults (meaning that they are very intelligent so don't be afraid to use big words, they will figure out what you're talking about and learn new vocabulary in the process).Once they discover that fire within them, their resilience is born, Leo children are sensitive indeed, but they always bounce back (in my experience.) Sorry so winded, I didn't intend to write you a novel 😉

I endorse this assessment of Leo female children.

Amen.

I can see the parallels in my own life.

And yes on speaking like an adult-- people who talk "baby-talk" to their kids, when they are no longer a baby, are doing them a grave disservice.

My parents didn't do it, even when I was little-- I'm grateful for that, now 😄

Teach your child discipline and she'll thank you for it someday.

I will happily co-sign that.

Me too, I left that part out...discipline them big time, my daughter is pure fire in this regard - she will push and test you to the limit and stand her "ground" unless you thoroughly put her in her place and explain WHY she is being put in her place, being as detailed as possible. There's no middle ground with her. She would probably eventually spin out of control from the power of her own inertia if we didn't 😉
