Trying to Understand

Short story. I have been friends with leo man for 20 years. I went to his 40th birthday party in Aug. We ended up feeling sparks, kissing. A week later we went out, he told me he still was not over his divorce. So we decided to keep being just friends. I would text him random things from time to time. It's been about 4 months. For the past two weeks we have been texting each other pretty flirty things.
I went to his town this saturday. I met him at his house, he drove and opened up car doors for me. Dinner was nice, we laughed, talked. After that we went back to his house. He put on a movie, and he told me he kept staring at my legs. He wanted to touch them. I had my legs on him and he kept rubbing my legs. At one point he said it was hard to control himself. At a few points he put his arms around me. I put my head on his chest, in hopes that he would kiss me. Nothing. It was about 3am, and he said its late if you want to stay on the couch you can. I said no thanks, I will head back home. He said text me when you get home, so I know you made it safe. I said ok. He walked me out to my car, and in my head I kept thinking he is going to kiss me. Nope, he gave me a hug. I didn't even know what to say, so I got in my car and drove home. Wondering what just happened. I kept thinking in all the two weeks of flirting there was no way I mis-read the signals.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

What I got from this: It seems like he likes you, he has some baggage to work through, he doesn't want to ruin things by rushing into things too early with you before he regrets it (maybe again) despite you wanting him to pick up the pace. I have no experience in this, but that's my 2 cents.

Though honestly, as a Leo girl, I'd be affronted that he offered the couch instead of his bed. Where's the chivalry? J/K, but not really. :X

I agree, he could be working through some stuff. If that is the case than I respect that as his friend. Maybe he isn't really ready to be dating.. I am just saying..

I think he is a grown man and knows himself. He knows that if he moves too fast that he will lose interest and that the frienship will never be the same.

It's called being evolved. A Leo man will surely kiss and and do a bunch of other things to you but then he will go out and roam the jungle. That's just the way it is.

I think he is trying to slow things down or TEACH you how to make a man work for it.

He sounds like a gentleman to me.

Pisces and Leo ...horrible match. Leos generally aren't sensitive while Pisces are super sensitive. Unless he has a Pisces Moon or a watery chart it is going to be rough.

Maybe he's thinking of you as serious relationship material and doesn't want to spoil the first moments (but can barely contain himself)

The rule in relationships is that the soul will only attract the sign/relationship that helps it learn (positive or negatively)

We don't attract random ppl when it comes to serious relationships.
Look at the natal Sun aspects (for women) and Moon aspects for men and you'll see pretty much the same variation

YES! He seems like a very good guy. Really mature. How old is he? Just curious. I think he will come around. Just be patient. 🙂

He is 40 and I am about to 40 soon as well. I know that Pisces and Leo are not usually a good match. For some reason I attract them. I have had a few Leo's in my life.
He posted something on FB yesterday and I texted him a comment about it. Something cute and funny.
We will see how it goes. After us being friends for so long, I don't want things to get weird. They did the first go around.
