Soo... again I am ignored... or is it because there so much actin on the other boards? Well, I think right now I'm doing what everyone right now seems to have a big deal with- I'm talking to myself. I do it all the time...just not usually with different names (though my real name is not gwen) hmmm... I wnder if anyone even looks at this thread? If they don't then this could be up hear for a while...
You're not being ignored Gwen, rest assured that there is mad action happening on the other boards and that is why we're sort of concentrated over there rather than here. You can call it a minor dxpnet controversy, if you will. Eventually your question will be answered, but even if it isn't, don't feel bad or unusual: at some point, almost everyone writes a post that nobody responds to.
I would answer your question, but I'm confused by it and I'm not sure what you're asking. lol.
I get ignored sometimes too. But, not today! Yikes! I didn't mean to do what I did. Well, Gwen, the truth is, I didn't know what to say in response to this post... I might be better off talking to myself...as I made a fool of myself.. Oh well...life does go on. I will just have to laugh at myself! LOL!
Na, Star, you didn't make a fool of yourself at all! You simply were confused...it is completely understandable and if anyone calls you foolish or anything of the sort I will be inclined to unleash my mighty wrath upon them. lol. Don't worry, I would have done the same thing. I just happened to have already known that there was a glitch. I should have spoken up about it last night, but I figured it would be fixed by today, which it will be, thank goodness, I think we are all on the brink of insanity what with the current drama we're all experiencing. lol.
Hehe...anyone who claims they aren't a fool are foolish themselves (despite my fear of mighty wrath). But anywa, I don't mind. As for the question of my post.. I don't know what my question really means but I thought I'd ask it anyway to see the varied responses.
lol. I was so just kidding about the mighty wrath thing Gwen...I know you already knew that though. hehe.
Okay. According to that definition, I would say that I do have "an underlying philosophical or theoretical principle". It is this: that there is no end to life, there are only stages of life and transitions between the world we (currently) are "in" and the next. Or, depending on how you look at it, not "the next", but "the original"...the place we all originated from. I believe we are not at home on planet earth, but that our home is on "the other side". I have absolutely no proof to back any of this up, it's just what I feel. I believe that our experiences here on earth were already decided on the other side, before we incarnated here, and that we are here to learn lessons and take them back Home (the other side) to teach other souls, and start the whole process over again. I think, and this is really out there I know, but I think that there are also many different ways to "learn" a lesson. For example, if a man murders another man, the family members of the victim can either learn the lesson of overcoming hardship, exacting revenge, or executing justice. I believe that for each "theme" of each lesson (i.e: Justice, Honor, Forgiveness, Benevolence, Duty, Matriarchy, Patriarchy, and the list goes on for a million years), each soul will "learn" from it in a different way, and go back Home with a different take on what was learned from that experience.
Wow, Phoenix...my sister believes something really similar to you (I have 3 sisters...this one is the oldest). She believes that your soul advances or doesn't advance in this lifetime. In other words, if you learn the designated lessons (in this life), in your next life you go to a better place. (another planet, star, whatever...but, it doesn't have as much hardship, etc) If a soul didn't get through the designated lessons, that person returns to this planet again and again until they pass! Thus, the 'young soul' vs. 'old soul' idea. Some of us have almost completed our learning (old soul) and some of us haven't (young soul). This is why some young people seem sooo wise. But, there is also what they call Indigo Children. That is a mystical concept to me yet...even though I have a book about it...my sister believes my daughter is one of them. I agree with her...but, it doesn't mean I 'get it'. Anyway...I am going to end up writing a book if I don't shut-up soon! One last thought...in numerology there is a cycle of nine (for years)...some books go into the profession you should choose depending on what year life you are in... OK! 'Nuff! LOL!
When it comes to believing in an "afterlife", I can't really imagine one but I always leave the option open to allow myself to change my mind. I believe that life is life, death is death, and that's that. You (your individuality) begins at birth and ends with death (with the exceptions that your memory lives on in others). I guess the best way to explain it is in the evolutionist/naturalist way- that we are just like the animals, no more privileged than they. They have individuality and choice in their actions, it is just our advanced intelligence thanks to evolution that we have changed the world so much and put ourselves above the animals. I guess that if I had to lean toward any belief of afterlife, i would go for reincarnation, including the souls of humans and beasts. Of course, I always had a problem fitting plant life in there =).
I always find other people's thoughts on things like this to be very interesting! Star, I'm telling you babe, we are related. lol. 😛
Gwen, you are similar to my father and his beliefs...hey...maybe we're ALL related in here! LOL.
Star, what is your Life Path Number in numerology? Do you know? I am a Number Nine, which is supposed to be a hard life or something, what with the fact that I'm supposed to learn *all* the karmic lessons for the past 8 numbers. A psychic told me that during a reading, so who knows...oooh, another topic to research in my spare time; I love it. Gwen I would be curious to know your Life Path Number too!
numerology? I have to ask my friend who has done it for me- I have never gotten around to learning indepth about astrology or numerology though I am interested. What's interesting though, and it's the only thing I can remember, is that i have a 0 for devotion, the letter 6(is that the right letter?).
Gwen, I'm just going to be very breif with this, and you should thank me becaue I could go on for a long time about my mataphysical ideas. My underlying principle is that there are not underlying principles to anything and everything is unreasonable until somebody invents a reason for it to be reasonable.
Years and years ago when I was in college, I took a field botany class in the summer...mostly for the heck of it. (I hadn't chosen a major yet). Anyway, we had a variety of ages and a variety of reasons for taking it...but, we became a close-knit group...we had to do many group projects and the instructor was 'into' fun! Once after class, we all went out for pizza and beer (including Clark, the instructor). Somehow...I don't even know how it got started...I read everyone's palm! I was goofing off and told them I didn't know what I was doing...that I was making it up!! LOL! But, weirdly enough, I was on the mark with what I told them...not serious stuff...how many kids they had, if they were married, little bits about their personality traits...but, seriously, I was goofing off! (This was one of our first 'outings' and was before we became close...) They were amazed! LOL!
When I look back, I am not sure Clark should have done all the partying with us that he did...but, it sure was fun! (I know I wouldn't have if I had been the Instructor...but that is me!)
My favorite friend from class was David Bond...we called him Bondo (David if you are reading this...talk to me Bondo!! LOL!)...anyway, I ended up cutting his hair for him because his Mom was after him to get it cut and he didn't have the $ $ . Everyone in our class liked it...I ended up cutting another guy's hair (he had beautiful hair...I was sort of afraid too...but, I did want to touch it! LOL!!) and Clark's hair (at their request)...it was at a party at a house and we were drinking beer...OMG! When I look back...
Sorry for the flashback!! LOL!
P.S. I have had psychics tell me I am psychic! LOL!

I guess the magazine called the Edge is sponsoring the Life Expo in Minneapolis...so it is an Edge Life Expo and not a Whole Life Expo. Doreen Virtue will be there!
An underlying philosophical or theoretical principle: a belief in luck, the metaphysic of the gambler
So, does anyone have "an underlying philosophical or theoretical principle"?
