Contrary to immature perceptions and stereotypes, political and medical ignorance, Cancer is not an illness that universally afflicts people strictly because they smoke, handle certain materials,
lived risque life style s, etc.

It appears that Cancer, for many, may already be genetically encoded in their DNA when they are conceived.
I have not begun to investigate this subject but to my knowledge, very little success has been
realized for nearly all terminally Cancer patience. Which is why we occasionally hear of charity fund drives and the like. They haven't found a cure for Diabetes along with other serious health conditions.

There appears to be a connection with the Genes.
My question is post-natal/post-depart'em gene manipulation possible?
That is, after a person is born, can his genes be reconfigured? If so? How?
Reason I ask is if the DNA can be tweaked, perhaps Cancer and many other major health issues
can be rectified. Of course, we are messing with nature and tweaking the DNA might prove
disasterous.

Have a read.

They just came out with genetic testing. A family member of mine is having this done.

Genetic testing for cancer risk

Cancer-related genetic tests are most commonly done as predictive genetic tests. They may be used:

To see if a person has a certain gene mutation known to increase the risk for a certain cancer (or cancers)
To confirm a suspected gene mutation in a person or family
Testing cancer cells for genetic changes

Sometimes after a person has been diagnosed with cancer, the doctor will order tests to look for gene changes in a sample of the cancer cells. These tests can give information on a person??s outlook (prognosis) and can sometimes help tell whether certain types of treatment might be useful.

These types of tests look for gene changes only in the cancer cells that are taken from the patient. These tests are not the same as the tests used to find out about inherited cancer risk.

This document does not cover gene testing done on cancer cells. For more about this kind of testing and its use in cancer treatment, see our information on specific types of cancer.

The rest of this document focuses on predictive genetic testing for inherited mutations as they relate to cancer.

Here is how I understand the basics of many health risk, Cancer being but one.
Ever notice how healthcare professionals are asking about "any history of (this or that illness)
in the family?"?

Thinking "Future Tense" and potential "Future World Fact Of Life":
I hate to say this, but the way to hope to find a cure is going to require an exhaustive compilation of everyone's factual statistical database that interlinks with other members in the family and
extended family. It would be enormous in of itself. Comprehensive - everyone's family tree would
be documented, medical and employment records searched and cataloged. HUGE!!! It boggles the mind.
Basically, a "Log O' Life" database having international connections.

Extreme super computers are used to search this database, retrieve pertinent data and compiles
it for analysis, followed by pattern searches.

Along the way, researchers find patterns with regard to genetics and DNA codes.
I can see it, but it's very very hard to explain it, and.......... I am pretty sure
that it's going to be a ways off as everyone is concerned about their privacy.
Privacy Issues will be the biggest barrier in history to overcome in the advancement
of medicine and a cure.

I honestly don't think many of the techniques used to treat these great many illnesses
will be the final solutions as they are always finding something new. However, I DO
think that making a concerted cooperative effort, aforementioned above, will hasten
the discovery.

If such a universal catalog were to begin today, it might take 100 - 200 years
to find the cures to the many illnesses that we are only beginning to understand today.
But it's going to require an concerted unselfish and cooperative effort.
Unfortunately, privacy abuse is the greatest concern, obviously.
I think the new frontier, is not out there, but within. The Answer lies within.
Some future generation will discover it.

What is it?
What is wrong?
Why is it wrong?
How to correct what's wrong correctly?

If I drive a truck down the wrong road, I need to turn around and go back
and retrace my steps. Then I find the path that I should be on and
take it, I am sure to find my way to my destination. I may have lost time, but
ultimately, I will get to where I am going.

If that analogy and others like it, could be used in medicine and medical/political
research, development and practice. The right course of action could be found expediently.

It's like their method is all wrong because their structured rules that dictate
their line of thought is all wrong.

Hmmmm.
