Can't figure out a scorpio male

First of all, this guy has moon, mercury, venus and pluto in scorpio. My strongest influences are pisces and virgo. Also, we go to college together.

-He's been looking at me for about 5 months.
-Whenever our eyes meet, we hold eye contact for the longest time. Im never comfortable when people look into my eyes, but when he does it, it gives such an amazing vibe. Our eye contact is what got me attracted to him
-He was also stalking me on Facebook (not in a creepy way)
-He was very friendly and helpful towards me
-Our connection as far as chatting was friendly. But I strongly felt that he was (or still is idk) attracted to me.
-I never gave a sign that I'm attracted to him, except I did hold the eye contact

So I got way too curious about this situation and I wanted to find out so bad about what he's thinking. I asked him (in a friendly way) that he's been looking at me often. He read my message quickly as always but he took an hour to respond. He went online, offline several times and then replied that it's my imagination but everything is ok.

Now he is distant towards me. He's not rude, but distant and he stopped to do everything he did before (staring, stalking, looking).

Did he liked me before? If so, does he still like me? What can I do to get back to where we were?
I thought about apologising and confessing my feelings, but I don't want to annoy him and I don't want to look like a fool if he doesn't like me.
