I've always wondered how much is really a mental disorder vs people who really are seeing/experiencing things in the psychic realm that others who might be less in tune to it can't see/experience, and therefore automatically label them as mentally ill, delusional, etc.
With schizophrenia, I think it's likely... the part of the brain that is

affected is the same as that affected by so called mind expanding

drugs, iirc.

Interesting stuff.

Science and society has long held the belief that the paranormal doesn't exist, that people can't see spirits, etc. simply because the technology hasn't been invented that could record and capture such things as proof, but if there's anything we've learned from science it's that we're always uncovering things we couldn't previously discover.

The video of the gal describing her illness: she mentions smelling smoke, hearing voices. I've known psychics who can see spirits, hear them, who have had loved ones and strangers linger around them or try to interact, including one lady who's grandfather would sometimes visit, and he was a smoker. Every time he would be there she'd smell smoke and occasionally pick up something he'd say to her, usually something funny.
