scorpio shutting me out , breaking up

Im a cancer female and have been dating my scorp for 2 years now. We have always had chemistry like no other. Hes away in school and says things have started to become overwhelming for him , mentioned his family , grandma in particular but was still sand offish on not telling me full details on why he didnt want us together anymore. he says It has nothing to do with me , but whys he treating me like a stranger like I cant be the one to help him . Hes been distant and knows I love him. he expressed he loved me as a person . he keeps saying don't wait for him . but he knows clearly that im not going anywhere. Says he loves me but I not in love with me.What would be the best thing to do at this point . He also hasn't deleted and pictures or anything. Says were broken up and he doesn't want me to think we are on a break. I know he wont tell me certain things because of how he is , secretive so whtever.i tell him all the time how much I appreciate him, proud of him and everything, beecasue he is and I do. but if I have nothing to do with this why am I the one paying for it with a weird break up .this is so left field to why he's acting so shallow towards me. We have expressed things to each other he hasn't even told his parents. deep down I know this man is who makes me feel out of this world . I need to know by letting him have his time to himself will he come back to me.I have never cheated on him although his past relationship she cheated on him twice. not very close with his dad but is a mommas boy .I am a strong cancer who can put up with this kind of man. but it hurts me to see him like this and more hurt because of what hes doing to me .? Help

I hate to say this but sounds like his attention may be elsewhere and he's doing his best to let you down gently.

If he's told you that this is not a break and you are done, why are you still living in hope?

If he's had the balls to tell you it's done I would take it as just that. He obviously cares enough about you to do this. A lot of Scorpio men don't do this and would run away without a word.

You feel this way because, it sounds like he's your first love. If I were you I would try to move on and begin the healing process.

Could this be a phase of overwelmingness ? Or just a phase . I know he wouldn't ebd it out of no where , I know him better than that

These are the things you need to hear him saying to you....
What you want at this point is no longer relevant because he is not on the same page as you are. Accepting that it is over is difficult, and oftentimes we try to find some ulterior motive for the reasons a man 'we love and want' would say those things to us.
It's tough, I know, but accepting that he is saying that it is over is the best thing for you to do.
