Venus in Scorpio - it overpowers my entire chart!

I have Venus in Scorpio (conjunct Ascendant and Uranus). I find that it is truly Venus in detriment. It certainly makes me intense and passionate, but it also makes me controlling, jealous, and possessive. I can actually feel myself spiraling into an "abyss" of obsession when falling in love. I'm like a freight train running off the track. I can't stop it. And every time, I sting myself and lose the object of my affection. And despite knowing this, I still cannot keep myself in check.

Does this happen to others with Venus in Scorpio? If so, how do you handle it?

Are there any signs (in Venus) that appreciate or can tolerate these qualities? Who is compatible with this?

*sigh* - I was recently involved with a man who did have Scorpio Mars, Scorpio Ascendant, and Capricorn Venus (all signs that you mentioned). He was Aquarius Sun though. He seemed to understand me more than any guy I've ever met, but in the end, he couldn't handle me. I am Sagittairus Sun (which is supposed to go well with Aquarius). He said that I was a "tornado of passions" and too fiery/dramatic for him.

People tell me all the time that they are drawn to me and afraid of me at the same time.

Do you get that too?
