Christmas is right around the corner, so what are your plans?

My brother, who is currently deployed in Afghanistan, bought plane tickets for my mother and I so that we can go and spend Christmas in Germany with his wife and their son. I'm ecstatic because 1) I get to be in Germany again with my family and 2) I get to see my baby nephew for the first time since he was born nine months ago. I'm so excited 🙂

How about you guys?

Germany- cool Candeh! Isnt your nephew the little Pisces? I think I remembered reading that. I am spending Christmas Eve with my brother and his wife. My son and his gf from PA, and my daughter and my mom. My brother lives about 45 mins away from me here in Jersey. Christmas day we spend at my best friend's house with her family. No snow here but very cold today. We dont usually get our snow until Jan/ Feb. Thats when the big snow comes! Another cool thing that a lot of the smaller towns here do is have Santa driven around in a fire truck, throwing candy to the kids. Lol

I'm doing Christmas with my kids at my place, should be fun, although I haven't got them any gifts yet (I'm the ultimate procrastinator) - they should just be happy I'm feeding them 😛. I'm off that whole week though, so I might hop a plane and head to FL to see the Virgo in my life at some point, he keeps pushing for me to come down, maybe I'll spend New Year's with him. I still need to figure out what to give him for Christmas though, UGH!

I'm pooped but I had a great time. I spent it with family. Most of the festivities started two weeks before x-mas, and on and on it went.

We did alot of cultural stuff this year. Well, we usually do cultural stuff every year, and Alvin Ailey has literally become a staple. We did trolleys, christmas caroling, and even found a mid 19th century mansion right in our area we never knew existed, and attended their annual holiday gala. Really beautiful, and a great way to educate the kids on greek culture. We also did Carnegie Hall (Celso Duarte-Fandango), and some theatre programs for the little ones.

I literally ate myself into oblivion on x-mas eve, and the confectionary treats were endless. *licks lips*

The highlight was a small charity event that my family and I put together for a local group a few days ago. I felt so empowered afterward I can hardly wait for the next. I'm thinking something along the lines of a food drive. I don't care what anyone says, there's nothing like service work for those in need.
