Personally I have had so many internal conflicts that I began to feel as if I were going to short-circuit.Everything began to get to me and life stopped being an enjoyable experience. I damned everybody who crossed me, whether they were right or wrong. My belief in God plunged and I began to laugh that God could even exist. I began to realize that it was not Gods fault that my father had died in surgery. It was not Gods fault that my marriage was barely working. It was not Gods fault that some of the only solace I could find would come in the form of little brown bottles of beer. In fact it was God who finally released me from these pressures. What about you all? Erick

well it's really not my place to tell you how to get through the hard times in your life. People deal with situations differently, as the situations themselves differ. Me personally, I go camping. I'm a nature lover, so I like to surround myself with trees and chirping squirrels and whatnot. I suppose that would work with anyone, but I'm not sure: engross yourself with something that you really really like, one to take your mind off whatever's troubling you, and two to make you realize the world's not all that bad.

A month ago I felt the same way! I thought I had a handle on my life and was short circuited 9/11/01 and didn't realize it. I ended up not being able to function for 4 days! I was told to rest but my mind kept moving so I couldn't rest, so I gave in to my creative side (seems to come out more during crisis) and was able to physically clear things away in my house, which in some way made me feel I was clearing unwanted things away in my life. Needless to say, I still have those problems, but because of my Aquarian traits (always giving to everyone else), I'm more in touch with MY feelings. Good luck. I know it's hard....

You have all made profound statements...I know I am mainly a cheerful, positive person...but it took me a while to get here...

I don't want to get into the drudgery of my past..
But, have discovered many things upon my awakening from the depths of despair...mainly meditaion was a stronghold for me...nature has always been my favorite place to meditate...and to just enjoy...somewhere with some solitude...

Interesting what you said about "clutter"...not that you called it that exactly...
But, I went to a Feng Shui seminar in which the idea was presented that all things are energy and if there is too much clutter, the energy cannot circulate properly thereby manifesting itself in a variety of negative ways for the inhabitants: tiredness, listlessness, illness, etc....in general...negative outcomes...

Which brings me to the idea of positive affirmations...I use these daily to remind myself not to sink into the abyss...
My job is stressful and many that I work with are very stressed and very negative...
Negativity seems to hang in the air like a persistent storm...whereas positivity seems to float for awhile and then be gone as a fluffy cloud would be...

OK. Enough of my sillosophizing!

Wish you the best!

Good to hear from you Erick!

Erick I also have had many hard years, and felt that it is a journey to come closer to myself. Unfortunately it was through the hardest lessons that I have learned the most. I love being alone and being still and silent, its very peaceful and grounding. I agree about the clutter because where I live now, its to cluttered and it makes me feel negative, and I have also been surrounded by negative people and I don't like it, but try to find more people who can see the positive and good things in life.
