hello arians! i was wondering if any of you could tell me a little bit about having your mercury in pisces (if that is the case, of course)

i recently started dating an aries man, and i find he is quite quiet for someone of a fire sign.
sometimes i feel like i am the only one initiation conversation and that i am often talking my head off.
don't get me wrong, he definitely is more or less interested in what i am saying (as a leo, i am quite used to talking for no reason, and i know this) but he often replies in a very simple way and doesn't not further extend the conversation.

so i'm just wondering if any of you aries have merc in pisces if you can relate to that or perhaps clue me in to something i am missing.
also, if this relates to being an aries in any way i would love to hear more about it.

i'm trying to understand him, and sometimes i really have no idea what he is thinking!

thanks!!

Yes mam that sounds like me. I am very quiet. I dont open up easily and have been accused of being stand offish. I also day dream often, easily distracted. I dont really initiate conctact with people but I am getting a bit better at that. And i am also guilty of the one word answer thing, I hate explaining myself. I can talk for days with people I am comfortable with but even then I have my moments when you would think I have shut down, it probably means I am in deep thought about something.

well i know that he thinks i'm funny, which is a plus.
but having my moon in pisces i tend to get introverted and quiet as well at times, and i just wish that he would take the initiative to start more conversations with me rather than me being the one to ask questions and start convos all the time.

i posted this in the pisces thread as well, and they pretty much said what you did, that if the conversation is interesting you are more likely to interact and if it seems kind of pointless than you don't really bother.
which is good to know.

I have natal retrograde Mercury in Pisces. I concur with Bella for the most part. I am much less verbal than I am expressive through action, non-verbal, and the written word. When I don't feel like speaking or the topic is not of my interest, I don't contribute. I do like to listen though. I'm also an Aries/Pisces cuspian, 0 degrees Aries - March 21st. With natal retrograde Merc., I'm misunderstood - constantly. It leads me to speak less and less. Honest, direct, and well-intended Aries accused of being mean and harsh. I've learned to add fluff to my sentences and dress them appropriately. Perhaps my natal retrograde is not a fair account for the answers you seek; but I am a Merc. in Pisces. I feel it's not reflected in just my day-to-day social exchanges, but also in the messages I seek to deliver and my interests in creative expression.

You may also be seeing some trademark Aries as well, but this also sounds a lot like me. A lot of listening with simple replies. He may not have your expertise or knowledge or interest in the content of your speech. But he likes you enough to give you his extended attention. He may genuinely be fascinated in you and the things you are interested in. When I sit in conversation with a lady I'm seeing, she'll be talking a lot about her interests. I'm absorbing as much as I can and it's hard to explain what's going through my head. But there is a rush going on in my mind as all the pieces of her interests, and her personality, and her being are clicking together in my mind as I formulate the truth of her identity. Or how so I perceive it. Therein lies the Aries idealization, however impractical, of his female divine. It's difficult for me to express more than short and succinct messages while I'm constructing you into an infallible goddess, much less provide anything of intellectual substance as I am, completely on my own accord, falling more in love with you with each passing moment.

thanks for the feed back!
this is all very helpful!

limited, i feel like what you've written for the most part does really resemble this aries fellow of mine.
it's interesting that you don't even quite understand how things are being processed in your own head, and i definitely do get that sense about him as well.
i feel like he might have a hard time identifying or describing how he thinks and how he processes things mentally.
which is something that i definitely do not have a problem with, having my mercury in virgo means i am constantly aware of how i am thinking and very concerned with how others think as well analyzing conversations to the very detail.
this is probably why i am having such a hard time syncing with his way of communicating.

This is why I love my Pisces cousin. We can just chill in the same room and not have to be in conversation the whole time. We don't feel like we have to entertain each other. But I agree with everyone else, if I'm quiet, it's because I'm in deep thought. Small talk is almost a burden when I'm stuck in my head. I like big talkers when I want to get out of my thoughts. I love to listen. It quiets my own thoughts for a while.

This. I enjoy living in my head. When I come out, it's for parties and special occasions. I'm not going to make small talk at the bank, in line at the grocery store or anywhere else... Unless its
Funny. Then I'm all in for fun and laughter- but again, that's a party!

I think his quietness has a lot more to do with his Rising sign, where his sun is placed, or what sign+house his mars is placed(in his case, since he is an aries mars position is important). Mercury doesn't always point to how often you talk or express yourself, more to do with how you go ABOUT expressing yourself. If there's anything that shows how a person puts himself out to the public, it's the Ascendant and the planets in the 1st house -check that one out first 🙂
