I've taken astrology a bit more seriously lately and come across some interesting stuff...

I've got some heavy pluto placements, probably more so than what's for my own good, throw in a heavy dose of saggitarian/arian fire and it's a furnace.

My lady also has similar placements..

What I have discovered though, is that pluto's entire purpose is to shed all old inhibitions and move forward in a transformative way. I'm just shocked at how some of these placements manifest themselves, especially in matters of love.

Pluto in the Eighth House: The energy is focused on power, control, sexuality and privacy. These individuals are born secretive, intuitive and psychic. They have a powerful ability of healing and have an intense presence. They see through fakeness and cannot tolerate superficiality. They are strong and people are often intimidated by them in some way. They have a look of confidence and a —don't mess with me?? look on their face. They are natural healers and drawn to the healing professions. Many psychologist, therapists, counselors have Pluto in the eighth. The downside of this placement is that I often see individuals that were sexually abused or sexually victimized in some way. This feeling of being victimized not only comes from physical experiences but emotional experiences. There is a feeling of regeneration and rebirth that these individuals must experience. This can be a painful placement if these issues are not discussed, healed and processed with someone the individuals can trust.

from my understanding, and i could so absolutely be wrong, with the outer planets, their power is more influenced by house positions and synastry.

i mean, everyone in my generation is a pluto in libra and therefore, there is no real import to this designation when viewed alone. however, if pluto were in my 8th or if my partner had a planet that opposed my pluto, all of a sudden, pluto's influence in my chart/relationship is magnified.

i think the death/rebirth nature of scorpio in a chart/synastry where pluto is strong will be evident. for the individual, it will take a lot of effort learning how to exercise positive control over one's self, not others. for the relationship, it will be a heavenly-hell that if not careful, mindful and aware of how the pluto person's actions compel destruction, a wonderful pairing can end disastrously.
