The trine aspects definitely makes it easier to connect and there is more of an empathic understanding, however the key to attraction is Venus and Mars. Your Venus has to be positive or understanding to his/her Mars and your Mars with his/her Venus.
We hear of many couples that should not in essence get on, but do and end up very happy for many years. House placements is just as important- 5th and 7th houses, as well as the 8th to a certain degree. The 4th house to have a basic idea how both feel about family and kids for example.
