Why do people believe in horoscopes?

Several years ago I asked this question to myself. To get the answer I decided to know more about astrology and astrologers. Are the prophesies of astrologers true? May I believe them?
Here is one of the examples that the prognoses come true:
"The astrologers foretold to Alexander Macedonian not only the hour of his death but also the cause of it. The astrologers warned Alexander against entering Babylon but he did not listen to them. It's cool to have some answers. that's why. 🙂

for me it was a curiousity. i normally just dig til the curiousity is satisfied. unfortunately, i haven't really satisfied this one yet. 🙂

Astrology doesn't really predict imo, I mainly see it stating characteristics someone one can have but not always. That's why we see people come on these boards saying 'I heard this sign does this and should be blah...but why are they doing this' which is an attempt to predict that failed.
From my experience, the generic astro-characteristics get defined by the background of the person, friendships, education, life style in general, etc...
One thing asrology hasn't really done is explore emotions indepth so astro is still very much scientific that's why it's touch and go...

Why do people believe in horoscope?
Answers...
- we can't accept people are different and can't accept when they don't accept us
- age of over-information
- trying to understand ourselves
- helps us promote our bad or good habits by using the sign as excuse
- can't think of anymore... 😛

Because they want to have faith in something and astrology seems the non restrictive religion..lol..

Astrology should just be for fun..I don't for a minute think it can predict anything..that's a load of codswallop.
