When asking a Gentleman or Gentlewoman for anything or any sizeable monatary help, it is expedient first and foremost to show respect in the way your request is asked. I am not perfect, but none of us are. Mentioning to the person you're seeking help from, stating you heard or read an article about his / her goodwill toward certain individuals or humanitarian projects, will help break the ice. Also mentioning that you are aware of the person you're asking help from that you have heard or read about their involvement, for instance, in the political arena, or heard of his or her help in the environment, and help with saving aborted babies still alive after proceedures, is the key for opening a door for presenting your request for monatary help from the individual who has that capability of helping if they choose to do so.
