Cancer man driving me mad!!

So I've been friends with this cancer guy for about 4 years. Within the past 2 years we became close friends. Would talk regularly, hang out etc. Recently he's started acting distant towards me and it's really upset me. I sent him a text calling him out on it, saying that i'm upset about it and I miss him etc. This was his response:

Sorry for my absence. I don't meant to do it on purpose. I have a lot of things going on at work and outside of work which is still work related that I haven't had much time with a lot of people. My short replies is because i'm constantly busy and it sucks 😢 I know you're here for me and always have my back which is what I value so highly. And you know this shoulder is always here for you to rest on if you need help or someone to talk to. That being said I do want to catch up with you asap sometime soon and just have a chill and talk shit like old times 🙂 i'm sure once this passes things will go back to how they used to be.

As much as it seems like a genuine response, I feel like there is more to it and he's just blaming work. Someone please reassure me...am I crazy or would you be a little suss too? In all the years ive known him, hes always been a busy person - especially with work and he's always managed to find time for me, even to just message me once a week to see how I am. Now nothing. I don't get it 😢

He does reply, he doesn't ignore me. Just doesn't message me as much as he used to :/

You are over reacting and being a little selfish and self-centered if he has still been replying to you. Let him figure out his shit. If he's answering whats the problem? He sent a detailed message explaining himself. Don't you have other friends? Why do you need someone to message you every week? Let him live his life and you live yours. It's not like he's your boyfriend. Unless you are one of those girls that keeps guys around for emotional comfort with no regards to him/ his life/ or feelings. If he meant what he said he'll be back. Chill. Live your life girl. Don't take it too personally he said it himself that its work. What else are you expecting?

Hahahahah yes thank you!! I do over react sometimes and over analyse. Of course I have other friends, was just concerned. Thank you, I appreciate the honesty 🙂
