Cancers?! What's wrong with you lol?

Hello 🙂

Cancers I really really don't have anything against you. I do like your lovely selves and the fun you add to my life, but it always ends in tragedy (well maybe not that bad lol). Honestly, what's with the neediness, selfish, over-emotions, clinging, jealousy, lack of confidence, and control you want to have over your partner?

I've had 3 cancers in my life a friend, a cousin, and a crush and they all shared the above to the extend that I couldn't take it anymore and cut myself off.

Does that only happen when their with Gemini? Or is it a common thing?

I always read that Gemini and Cancers make a good match, but aah well never saw that in real life - at least not for my Gemini self.

Gemini's don't sit right with me, at least romantically. Too all over the place.

I Have a leo moon, so maybe thats why i am VERY confident! i am rarely jealous, maybe that is because i feel i am #1 lmao

who the hell said gems and cancers make a good match? in my experience with both signs they are far from being a good pair. of course one must consider each individual's chart in its entirety but i've been close with both signs and it's highly unlikely.

gems can be far too flighty and emotionally cold for a true cancer (maybe not my first cancer bf whose chart was heavily laden with gem influence). not to say that gems don't feel but they're usually very cerebral. they tend to live in their heads and cancers in their hearts. what you experienced with those cancers is typical when they feel a lack of warmth and emotion on your part. it sounds like they felt insecure in their relationship with you. don't hate them for it, that's just how they are. just like it's how you, and other gems, are to not be like that.

my bf is a cancer. very cancerian. i've never experienced the negative traits minus the occasional mood shifting. however, he feels extremely secure with me and he's also quite the balanced crab anyway.

gems and cancers can make good friends though. just because cancers are prone to being emotional, they are still usually very bright and intelligent creatures. they do like to partake in stimulating conversation and are fun to be around when they're in high spirits!

Hey hey not even a good adjective here!? It seems your experience was not good, maybe as somebody said, you were not emotional enough for the crab and he didnt feel secure with you. Otherwise, they are not selfish, or needy, or not confident. OK I admit they can be moody but they care for you and protect you and they are so warm and intelligent and affectionate....

Personally, I have just been in a terrible fight with a Gem friend of mine who had a very bad attitude , very fake and two-faced. I have dated a Gemini and he was nice and we had a great time, but too cerebral for my emotional needs. Great person though.

I don't know any Gemini's, however I do know that as long as a Cancer feels secure, and concretely understands that you love them and will never hurt them, they can be the best mate, friend ect...

People that have problems with Cancers tend to be ones that forget to consider feelings, or don't like to deal with feelings. For example Virgos. Cancers are extremely emotional, but we appear tough. Our feelings get bruised, and it makes us come off as sarcastic, mean, irrational, and a host of other terms i've seen used. This is a defense mechanism only. The Cancer wants to give love, and receive the same in return.

Another thing is to be consistent with all the above. Once security is breeched, you have to start all over again. Don't cross a Cancer or you'll never be fully trusted again.

Thank you so so so much for your replies that made me understand how things seem from a cancer point of view. Again, I didn't mean to hurt anyone, but was just explaining my experience with 3 cancers and actually did bother me. Ok some more clarity needed from you 😄!

By the way, I do have a few cancer signs on my chart 🙂

Just so you know I never was in a serious relationship with a cancer before and the 2 relationships I had were purely them having a crush on me. The other was a best friend, but they all shared the below:

Neediness: They need me to always be there and listen to them. Listen to their complains, problems, ambitions, dreams, and always asking for advice. As a gemini I like talking lol and I like communicating and being in touch with people. However, too much of everything isn't my thing, like they would always call me up for whatever problem that happens because they either want support or advice. Most of the time I would understand and take the time to help them out STEP BY STEP (which really draws me from my personal life and freedom). However, once I say oh sorry I can't help you with this I'm so overloaded with work projects/family responsibilities wooh that triggers it and I'm that evil selfish person who never helps or be their for them!! It drives me crazy.

Selfish, clinging, jealousy: So the two crushes I had from cancers it didn't go well and so I would talk to them calmly that we aren't that good being together and I would explain why and so. However, for some reason the opposite thing happens they cling and try to control me, like they see me talking with this guy and they would show up having all those questions. Didn't we break up already? No not to them, if they want you they want you! Honestly, I had one of my crushes clinging for years that I had to tell him I was engaged to get rid of him. Even my best friend, if I like go with one of my cousins to the movies she'd be wondering why I didn't ask her out too - maybe it was a family thing!

lack of confidence and over-emotions: I notice that when something happen the amount of worry/nervous/upset emotions are WAY WAY more than the ones I get facing the same thing. Sometimes I even forget that I have to react to that certain issue and spend time comforting my fellow cancer that it's ok lol when I should be worried too.

Gsoul, isn't funny how in supposedly "tragic" relationships the cancers are messed up and you are absolved of any personal faults? And they are all like that with you only? Flatter ourselves much? As cancers as usual we are being nice by allowing you to indulge in your arrogant attitude towards our sun sign. It is common for interlopers of other signs to come to this forum and put cancers down. The less insightful believe being "emotional" and being weak are the same thing. Being "emotional" is not a human weakness contrary to popular belief. There is a chance that all this "jealousy, clinginess,neediness" etc may have more to do with the dynamics of the relationship and the persons involved (including your behavior my dear) and not just their sun signs. No two people are alike even people of the same sign. You may need a more balanced and unbiased assessment of your relationships. Just because other people process life and react differently doesn't mean something is "wrong" with them. Its obvious you can't deal with emotional people. That is your problem not theirs. Why should they change for you? Why be their " best friend" if you can't relate to them? You act like you were doing them a favor. You may want to work on being more empathetic towards others before you start making sweeping generalizatioms and disparaging others. Everyone is different from others regardless and relationships are all about learning how to deal with people unlike ourselves. Not everyone is compatible. I'm sure some people you know may have complaints about you (no offense). By the way I'm a cancer with a lot of fire in my chart so I'm not needy, clingy, jealous or whatever other negatives you use to describe the 3 out of hundreds of millions of cancers in the world. I have a leo moon and venus and sag rising so I'm not shy and do not lack confidence. Also if you "cut things off" with these cancers why are you on the internet dogging them out? That is shady. Why do you even care? Btw I cannot think of any astrology expert who says air and water sun signs match well, but it all depends on the whole birth chart.

A quick reply to "guest1" my dear I never tried approaching those cancers we were casual, but they wanted more and I did give it a try, but then it wasn't working out and surprisingly they won't let go and want to control my life. That was my main concern. As to me, I would respect others feelings not wanting to be with me. I won't go chase them.

Then again not all cancers are alike and sure enough my 3 experiences were.

Haha...its cool to know that gemini is two-faced...Cause I am a cancer with venus, moon and rising in gemini and I feel two-faced and fake sometimes.. I do a lot of stupid things to people, and I feel bad for it later on ( the cancer in me does that).

Yeah, we cancers need people to be there for us..We find people rude or mean if they dont support us..All my water element friends are there for me when I need them..Then there Is my sister ( who is a leo) says only one thing to me: Get over it! Hehe..That works too. I somehow get along with everyone except earth signs though :S

We also have lack of confidence, no matter how pretty or smart we are.

My best friend used to be a gemini...of all the friends I have had, she is the one i felt most compatible with. We never fought..
