I know Cancer doesn't hold the place card as the only creative sign by any means, but there does seem to be a ton of creative energy in the whole moon influence, so, what's YOUR creative bent, creative poison, the thing that makes you itch with a need to scratch at a bit of canvas/paper/dough/metal/etc?

For myself: photography (especially macro shots), drawing, writing and jewelry design...for now....

Share it with me, because I love to get inspired by the creative passion others have and love to see what others get fired up about.

DAMN, CotC! That's an awesome moon shot! What camera and lens did you use? Maybe that's the problem, I have the exposure too long. Mine comes out too bright and glowing.

And ugh....another post to photo sharing site place. Does photobucket still work? I don't want to start a new one. :p

Maybe I'll just link to my deviantArt gallery and you all can take a gander. Would be easier than trying to remember my pb password.

I used a Canon EOS Rebel T3 with a 55-250mm lens. Had the mag set all the way to 250.
Might have been F/11 and ISO100 but can't remember exactly. I think I had the ISO setting a little lower.
Didn't have a tripod at the time, but I used a trick picked up from a friend-set the camera on a bag of rice to keep the camera steady when you take the picture.

Clueless, you'd be surprised what one can do with a cheap point and shoot. I have pics that are still my favs taken with a Canon PowerShot. It's only a 4 megapixel camera, though, so the downside is you lose detail and sharpness when you try to enlarge the pic.

For instance, these are all from my little powershot:

I want to upgrade the body I have for a newer one with even higher mega pixels in the next few years. When I got my digital SLR it was closer to the top of the line but the cameras have since gotten better with bigger pixel capability. There's a 600 mm telephoto lens I'd love to have. The beast is big enough to need its own tripod and costs about $ 10k!! But OMGOSH....the close range one could get with animal or sport shots!! ~DROOLS~ I'm a camera slut. lol The reality is you can still get great shots with the cheaper cameras but if you're serious about ever having them done in prints and blown up you HAVE to have the mega pixels at a higher number. I hate that some of my fav shots with my little point and shoot can never be blown up because the camera is a 4 mega pixel camera when digital first hit the market.
And thank you! I do love getting the shots. Oh to have unlimited time and money so I could go anywhere in the world! My obsession is sand dunes (besides the macro obsession). If I could I'd travel the world to capture the different dunes. I'd love to go to the Sahara just for that.

Thank you! Years of practice. I use Derwent pencils. The softest and darkest lead is the 9B. The sets gradient from super soft and dark (but not so great with hard detail) to very hard but fine and light. So, one set might have pencils ranging from 9B, 8B, 7B, 6B, etc until 2B then B, HB, F and H. Then the pencils count the other way. 2H, 3H, 4H, etc. B pencils are softer and darker than H pencils.
