You guys should all read up on communication theory, ´cause there is so much to it.
We all come from our own little world, and words have a bith cultural, historicle but also personal meaning to us. If I call you babe, it means one thing, and if your friend does, it means another.
I think you have to know or get to know the person, you are communicating with, for you to decipher his or hers particular way of communicating. You can never ever say "oh, well that means this", so there really is no point in coming here and asking, ´cause communication is so based on it´s context in so many ways, that the only way to find out, is to ask the person you´re communicating with, about what they mean, and/or if you are understanding them correctly.
