Need help with Cancer guy

Really appreciate your help to enlighten me about this Cancer guy.

I am Pisces.

I met this guy, Fraig, over a chatroom for a fling on Tuesday. I thought it would be purely a fling. During the session, he blurted out that he was seeking companionship and not sex.We talked about our past relationship. I am still troubled over my dramatic experience with my ex in which I was betrayed. And Fraig revealed he two-timed his ex and took the past 2.5 years to get over it. Fraig and I hanged out after the session. We really clicked and had a great time talking. We remained in contact for the next days. The only one thing I minded was that he was checking a social network iphone app every now and then. I admit I did feel insulted. When I told him how I felt, he told me he was just checking people out and nothing more. Honestly, he could have just brushed me aside and ignored me, because I was nobody to question him on such. I was kinda surprised he didnt ignore me.
Fraig kept saying that I liked him when I showed him concern.For the first time, I insisted that he was too good for me.Subsequently, I just admitted it, but he told me he did not know what he was looking for.I am very hurt by my ex and I do not wish to harbour false hopes, so I told him yday that I did not want to remain contact with him. He tried to retain me and said that 'if things do not work out the way (I) wanted to be, (I) dont simply just walk away, if we cant be a couple together, we can still be friends.'

On the side note, Fraig has a very hectic working life and is always surrounded by friends.



Can you guys help answer some doubts?

1. If a Cancer knows that someone is interested in him, would you keep him just as a friend?
Or does he have some feelings for me as well?

2. Why would a Cancer look around just for a friend, when he seriously has many friends?

3. I was very frank with my feelings to the extend I feel that I appeared emo. Why does a Cancer bother to still contact me and make the effort to retain me?

Well, he obviously has feelings for you, that's evident from what you wrote yourself. I admit I'm a bit confused though, are you questioning his interest in you or do you think he has some ulterior motive or something? It's clear that he enjoys your presence if he continues making effort to talk and be with you even after all the blocks you're putting up. And you say yourself that he was the one who discounted having a fling/FWB situation so obviously he's not just trying to get in your pants, even if he's not sure on what he wants yet.

I understand that you've been hurt in the past, but what are you truly asking us here? The questions you asked are easily answered. I do think however you shouldn't throw away an opportunity at being with someone special which he possibly could be due to fear. If you feel a connection with him as he obviously does to you, then see where it goes step by step. Don't just dismiss it out of hand.

I read somewhere that we need to be patient with Cancerians in a relationship. I am not comfortable with him checking out other people on an iphone app. However, he explained that he is just ogling at eye candies, and nothing more. Do cancerians lie?

I really need to know if he takes me as a friend with no further possibilities, or if he really is interested in me, but not sure of what he wants.
