Where do you meet people?
My Cancer bf and I met through an online dating site.
The Cancer guy that I like most in the world met me at a bar, but it wasn't like a normal bar/club at night outing. I was on a pub run event that my city has every year. A bunch of people dress in silly outfits and we run to every bar downtown and jump off the pier. So it's not like girls dressing slutty to attract guys who wanna get laid. I was with my friends and he and I had a mutual friend who introduced us.
I've also met a lot of people at other activities around town that involve alcohol. Your nerd friends might enjoy pub trivia which is usually a weeknight event at happy hour time at irish/british pubs. You'd be comfortable in your own friend group, but there'd be alcohol and if you spot someone you like, you could try to bump into them or something.
Another thing is called hashing, it's where you go running and drinking on a mystery trail set up by someone. you try to figure out the trail and catch up with the person leading. Most cities have groups for that. You could probably just google your city, and the words 'hash house harriers'. Fun, and anyone 21 and up can go. People just go to have a good time and make friends.
I was stuck in a similar situation where I loved my friends and could hang out with them all day, but I was lonely without my own romantic life and my friends were basically all dead ends for meeting new people, (they were nerds or were dating each other with no reason to go out and meet new people). Pub quiz and hashing are where I've met most new people.

Most girlfriends I've had I met through friends, but lately I've been hanging out with nerds who don't know any attractive women (or any women for that matter) so the pool I swim in is remarkably empty.
I recently turned 21, so bars are now an option. I intend to dip my toes in a bit, but I hear terrible things about women you meet at bars. All sluts and cheaters, which is fine for now cause I'm really just looking to get laid, but when I'm ready for something serious where should I go? I'm too shy for clubs, or chatting up random women on the street.
Not all girls that go to clubs and bars are cheaters/liars/sluts ... lol. I am a club bunny (I'm an aries though) and I refuse to sleep around with just any guy... Just learn to read people before you stick your ding a ling in them. hahahaclick to expand
I realize how crass my original post might be taken, and I don't mean it that way. This is just something I've been warned away from by friends for these reasons. I mean no offense, I know all sorts go to bars.

I'm on meetup, and I've been joining just about ever social group in my area. I'm hoping bar hops will be as fun as they sound, and that Drunk Diving stuff sounds fun! 😄
Who said anything about drunk driving? Now that you are a responsible 21 yr old (is this an oxymoron?)... I'm sure you'll know that you can have a designated driver, or park your car somewhere you can leave it and take a cab home. It's not that hard, silly!
