MY GUIDANCE?

Hi all, Just a quick question. I am a new business owner my business is over a year old. I have a website and a blog and some followers. I think I am doing ok so far. I still consider myself young, stupid guy and no big deal. This week someone from a big popular company contacted me and said they are starting a business which is slightly different from their original business and slightly similar to mine. This business they want to do is something I've been wanting to do but haven't told anyone. So they told me they wanted my insight and guidance and wanted to meet with me. This people are big gamers with millions of money and I have no money, what could they possibly want from me? Why my guidance and discuss business ideas with me? do you think they want to bring me on board? or just ask for some opinion, or think i can blog about their new biz, but i'm no big blogger either. Please enlighten me on this matter if you have opinion about this, my mind could not know, i don't want to hope, because they are big people. Maybe they are looking for someone to take charge? why discuss business ideas with a stranger? what do you think?

By the way, how come you have no money if you have your own business? It takes some money to start a business doesn't it?

You could meet with these people and give a little bit of your advice/knowledge (but not all of it, and not he most important one), and then when tell them you??d like to contribute in a more involved way because this idea sound interesting and something that suits you, so maybe you could become businesspartners. And openly tell them that a business deal with them would be something you??d like very much. Idk, just a thought. 🙂

TG, thanks for all your replies. I really appreciate it, As I think about it you are right, I should be cautious and maybe try to negotiate, I will see how it goes.

- I don't have money yet, as my business is new, I put up some money and is yet to break even. My earnings at this point is as much as my expenses, I still need some time to actually profit, this is the nature of a lot of businesses. I will keep you guys posted with what happens, i hope it will result to something nice and mutually beneficial. thanks again.

as for wikipedia, I think he's really stubborn to not add ads on his site, he could have been one of the richest web owners in the world, his site is one of the best, a bunch of people are clicking on it, but we never know, he could be earning as much from donations...and besides they started as a non-profit org, that's why they had a lot of contributors whom they did not pay and now the donations...a lot of it, goes to him..hey u never know 😉
