hahaha, well thats what things seem to be leaning towards. But I like fruits and veggies too :O
My favorite things are on the list I can't have. I'm like WHAT!

Posted by Crazy4cappy
Why is this?

Posted by cappygolightlyPosted by cappysweetiePosted by cappygolightly
do you have a thyroid problem?
Yeah .... how did you know—?
I know someone who has to avoid cruciferous veg because of thyroid. But surely you are very young to have thyroid issues? Is this why you didnt feel so good a while back? Too much stress is not good for you.click to expand

the person I know was helped a great deal by a homeopathist. Conventional meds don't help much.

Posted by Crazy4cappy
Haha thanks. 🙂
Do you have hypothyriodism? Because that's what I had and I was told the chances of just the tablets working was pretty slim by my endo. I looked up all the horror stories about RAI etc and though stuff that. haha
So I gave up broccoli, cauliflower and the soy. I used to drink a lot of soy milk and loved using soy sauce. Well 12 months later and I didn't need anything thank god!
So I know removing those three things helped me as my chance of recovery on tablets was 1/4.

oh um....lol I dont know how to explain. It's someone who has pills that have very miniscule amounts of diluted poisonous substances that are supposed to make you better because your body copes with the tiny toxin and it becomes stronger or something like that. But the main thing is that they do a wholist approach to health. So they give advice on diet and nutrition and psychology etc.

dont they give you meds to slow down your thyroid? I read up on this because having known someone with thyroid probs and being a hyperchondriac I started worrying I might have it lol. But I just gave up coffee and felt much better. I think I was just stressed.

Posted by cappygolightly
17? what a pain for you. Do you have mood swings & temperature sensitivity?

Posted by Crazy4cappy
Mine was Graves disease..I gues I still have it but it's in remission. Hopefully it will never come back. Whenever I get anxious or stressed I do get paranoid I might upset the apple cart.

Posted by Crazy4cappy
Oh well no wonder you had to have the rai then. I only had a small one.

Posted by Crazy4cappy
LOL. I keep it simple as well. Have you noticed though the only thyriod problem people know is hypo? I'd say at the time I've got a thyriod problem and they would be like yeah I have hypothyriod as well or someone I know has hypothyriod problems. The thing is Graves is rare where hypo is quite common. How rude of them to devalue my disease! haha

Yeah, I didn't feel anything but I saw the after effects afterwards and those sucked. Its like I had to repair my body. After I was converted, it was like I was given another body and I had to fix it lol!
Yeah I was trying to avoid all that but then still ended up with something else instead. So I've resigned myself to being sickly from now on. lol I'm not looking forward to old age when I've already had a taste of what it's going to be like with aches and pains and fatigue etc. hahaclick to expand

The worst thing for me is I have a foggy brain. I might as well be on drugs or booze. haha

Yeah that vertigo thing I think it's called. I can't stand the hot weather but the cold weather, I'm just so stiff and can't move. I know for me it was scary the first time I felt my energy level reduce. You are sitting there not doing anything that's made you tired and you get up and you feel like all the energy has drained from your body. One of the first times it happened to me I got a bit teary because it freaked me out. It's just so weird to have this energy loss and people don't get it because it doesn't follow the usually pattern of doing a lot of activity beforehand.

I can be sober and pretend I've been drinking. No one would ever know..lol

Oh yes, I cried alot in the beginning. Only because I felt hardly no no understood. That was a crazy time, but I've come to realize that I can't block it, I can only embrace it because it forget about it will be my downfall.

sweetie honey,
we have a very HIGH incidence of hypo and hyper thyroidism here.. in south east asia .. so first ... >
and second... whomsoever you let go.. dont miss an appointment with your doc.. the problem that I faced (chronic tuberculosis) that one tends to get along 'more-or-less' fine with disease and medical checkup etc take a back seat.. I hope you being a prudent cap, never do that.
My mother was Hypo-thyroid for 25+ years and working fine on oral 'thyroxine'.. she was a Math's teacher and initially her case was diagnosed for she would start doing a sum on board for student and in the middle of it... forgot the rationale totally, starting again from first line..
an endocrinologist is the right person.. I will go for Homeopathy as a suppliment ONLY, not the whole treatment regime.
and that PIC is HOT... ... in this time of global warming.it will cause floods.. 😉

Oh yes definitely strongly agree. You can't stop thyroxine supplements, blood monitoring and other such conventional therapy. I meant as an additional complementary treatment to help boost the immune system.click to expand

Sea vegetables are supposed to be very good for hypothyroidism. YOu can eat them or make them into tea, but if you've ever had kelp, then you know it's not really a very nice flavor. They do make supplements though. Have you tried taking a sea vegetable supplement? I take them for the iodine (to prevent breast cancer). I hate sea weed--i always pick the nori off of my sushi.

Posted by cappygolightlyPosted by cappysweetie
ohhh, I love sushi 😛 but apparently, theres a problem with me eating sushi too! UGH!!!!!! No, I've never tried sea vegtable suppements but I will see if I can get some 🙂
no raw fish? hmm Ive not heard that's bad but Id not find it too hard to avoid. The problem with lists of foods is that some are not as bad as others so a blanket ban is not necessarily needed. Apparently cooking veg gets rid of a lot of the bad stuff and who eats raw potatoes?
Have you investigated virgin coconut oil? Apparently it's supposed to be good for thyroid.click to expand
