When a cap is sick and stressed do they distance?

Well my friends cap bf is sick he has the flu,has been having stomach issues, gets panic attacks and he has been stressed.He recently stopped initiating contact.When she contacts him asking how hes feeling he says he feels sick headache,stomache,etc.and doesn't even as her how she is.IS this normal cap behavior when they're sick?They just withdraw and dont even care about their friends and loves?

When I'm sick, leave me alone! Don't call, don't come by. A text ONCE a day checking on me is fine. I might be asleep or might not feel like texting back so don't get offended if I don't or if the answer is choppy. I will appreciate the thought, but I might not be feeling social.
