Supplements: msm, biotin, hairfinity, vitamin d

Nutrition- tons of water, fruits and veggies daily

Products
No shampoo out hair doesn't need such harsh products.

Purchase A no poo instead
Deep condition weekly purchase your favorite conditioner...make sure it doesn't have alchohol, then add essential oils.

Such as jojoba, olive, coconut, grapeseed, avacado.
Section your hair as if you are applying a relaxer after you have mixed the conditioner with the oils.
Start directly at the root and apply you can do that to the whole head and save ends for last for less mess.

Sit with your conditioner for no less than an hour....up to overnight. Rinse and wash with no poo or lightweight conditioner. Rinse very well.

style as usual. Avoid products with alchohol.

Purchasing a hair steamer will be good too. It can change The texture making it more moisturizer, something our hair lacks a lot of , which in turn can prevent breakage and add length.

Also do not trim hair unless you have split ends. Aa have been programmed to trim our hair every min....we do not need too unless there's us damage. To retain your hair you cannot continue to cut off what just grew in.

for African American hair?

What products should I use in my hair and how can I get it to grow longer? I currently don't do much for it (just wash and shampoo) and I wear my hair in a short afro. Thanks!

I have tried for many of the therapies but none helped me grow my hair. Finally I am using best Remy hair. These give a natural hair and a trendy hair look. I highly recommend to try these out.

MSM is great! I also use flax seed oil. My hair is about bra strap length. Protective style s are a must for AA hair, when my hair is not in a weave I usually sport a cute bun. I'm a little lazy with deep conditioning and I do use shampoo, about pence every 2 weeks. I also make sure I put an essential oil on my ends to protect them. Don't comb it everyday unless you're wearing it down. No chemicals is better, but not always realistic, I'm going to dye mine this fall. Eat healthy! You'll be fine.

I second blkbella's no shampoo rule unless theres no nasties like laurel sulfate and is very mild. I only shampoo once a week because I hate how it dries my hair out and gives me split ends.

also if your only going to use conditioner I recommend only applying it to your tips because they are exposed to the sun and elements??_..avoid using on your roots because your sebaceous glands keep your scalp and roots moisturised naturally so you don't need extra moisturising product on your scalp getting it more greasy ew??_??_it is good to massage your scalp though to get the blood flowing and produce new hair growth.

My favourite trick to do is to run my hair through cold water after I have a hot shower, it snaps the cuticles shut and locks in the moisture lol??_.well thats what I imagine when I do it 😆

Also straightening your hair with a flat iron makes your hair longer "der" but even after you've had a shower and your hair goes back to being afro your hair has stretched a little bit so If you straighten your hair once a fortnight you will see your hair has grown over time??_..but hot irons really fuck your hair up so don't 🙂
