Beautiful by Estee Lauder is my all time favourite, I always have people complimenting me and wanting to know what I've got on (perfume that is :-). J'Adore by Christian Dior and Ellie Saab are my next favourite.

When I was younger I loved Ghost Myst by Coty, it's a shame they don't make it anymore.

Why would someone buy a fragrance online, how the heck do you sample it? Just go to Sephora!

Unless its your regular and you already know what it smells like.

Costs a pretty penny, but my favorite scent of all time is Beyond Love by Kilian. I'm obsessed with tuberose, and this one is just intoxicating. Sweet and sensual, so more appropriate for evening wear. Plus, I really like the sleek packaging.

Best site for perfumes and research bar none is this: http://www.fragrantica.com/

my top perfumes are:

1. CB's "I hate perfume Beach 1966"....sold online only. smells like the Coppertone I grew up in the 60's and seventies....actually has Coppertone's 1966 formula. Makes you instantly feel as if you're a kid again on a warm sandy beach catching some rays.

2. Clean Summer Sailing....sold through Sephora. All their perfumes are clean and fresh. No lingering chemical smell. Summer Sailing is new and my favorite of all their line. It's like smelling the ocean.

3. CK N2U Heat for her (pink bottle)....very sultry, great summer evening scent

4. Dolce Gabbana Pour Femme Women....incredible Fall/Winter scent...vanilla is the main note. men go insane when i wear this. especially my husband who gave it to me for Christmas. 😉

6. Creed's Virgin Island Water....a little lime and little coconut....a lot of compliments 😉

LOL! Yeah, right!

Fragrantica has significant financial backing from the fragrance industry, hence the high content level (not that all of it is always accurate). Don't think for one moment that Fragrantca is a truly 'independent' website.

Well that may be true, however, I've used this site to research perfumes with notes I'm interested in etc. I have found the comments from people who've purchased perfumes I've considered to be extremely helpful in making a purchase.

It's also a great site for just researching all type of notes and getting an understand how each note comes into play in a perfume. I went into it not understanding anything about notes and now understand much better how scents work. I haven't found another site that is so thorough overall when considering this topic.

It's also a great site to simply see what new fragrances have been released or will be. I enjoy the writers who put into detail info about the scent and the history of it etc. As a consumer, it's up to me to discern how much of that content aids me in a purchase or not.

FTR, even Consumer Reports isn't completely "independent".....and I've always found when doing research, I can take info from a few areas/sites and then form my own opinion. It's called being a critical thinker.

In terms of actual scent; I've always preferred light, crisp floral, tropical or sweet-smelling fragrances as opposed to musky, spicy or pungent perfumes. For instance, I never understood the appeal of Chanel No. 5 which is supposedly a classic favorite...in fact, the smell is overpowering & offends my senses. 😛

We sound very similar! I also prefer light fresh/floral scents and have also never understood the appeal of chanel no. 5 what are some of your favorites?

Mine are:
1. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue
2. Dior J'adore
3. Issey Miyake l'eau d'issey
4. Marc Jacob's Daisy (but used sparingly. I get sick of it easily if I use it too uch)
5. Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy (a combination of fruity and floral. I don't typically like fruity scents but this is the only exception).

Just ones I have in rotation (I'm not too underground when it comes to perfumes):

I also liked Armani's Si but I'm not sure about getting it yet. Can't decide if it's too sweet for me.

They are authenticate perfume. Do you hear about www.essenzzahealth.com/ from where I also buy my skin care product.
