Being blunt

My fellow gems (I am not a gem as you can tell) I want to know when your being blunt, can it be considered being insensitive? And can your bluntness can be caring or you being truthful? If I offend any of you let me know.

It can be. Sometimes I care; most often I don't. I guess if I cared what others thought of me I'd be more careful...

Sometimes it seems that I am insensitive, it's usually not intentional. I try not to say something if it serves no purpose other than to make someone feel bad. What would be the point? There are exceptions however, so context is important. Why do you ask?

I am curious, I had a gem tell me something of the lines of man up, it was harsh but she meant well. So just getting a lay of the land in the gem world

Gems generally aren't the vindictive type and like to inject humour in most of what we say. She probably meant well, since I get into trouble often with others, especially sensitive people. Heavens and I'm sensitive...but logical. I don't get bogged down in all the emotional stuff, though I wish sometimes. I'm soft but yet not. My closets friends understand me though; they know I'm harmless🙂

Just being honest. I can be blunt often, and sometimes it hurts people. I dont mean to hurt someone in purpose, never.

Example:
One day I was visiting my friend, and I saw her parents in the living room. And I said 'Hi, We're just visiting Ornela (my friend, a gemini as well). And then we went to her room. Then my cancer friend said 'you said visiting Ornela? That means not her parents?' She laughed and told me that it was kind of rude. I was like Omg, I didnt mean that way :O

So I've learned that I should be more careful with people who are sensitive/serious.

I had a pisces friend. She was way too sensitive. Whenever I said something, she thought it was about her. It was really uncomfortable to communicate with her, because I had to be careful with my words all the time.

Cool, I overstand now. You guys are honest and somethings you guys say aren't meant to be taking in context? Am I correct in that assessment?

We kind of state the obvious even if it's not... it just comes out like vomit sometimes cause we just need to say it, like children. Yes context is very important, you would hardly tell a stranger to man up unless you were referring to a polar dip😈 Cruel intentions are rare🙂

Im never blunt.
I dont like being told off and made to feel small, stupid and/or untrustworthy. So Im very careful about being blunt with people, or brutally honest. My sensitivity to others feelings doesnt allow me to be blunt. Though I know I could if I wanted, but my conscience doesnt allow me to have people in my life that I have to be blunt with. So naturally I dont put myself in that situation to begin with. Id rather lose you than have to be blunt with you, thats easier for me. If Im blunt with yiu its cause I care, other than that goodbye.

I'm a tell it like it is person. When I say sometimes I care; it's for people I care about.

Haha so true. I sometimes can be seen as insensitive because i just say what im thinking, i dont toss it around and consider how it will make someone else feel. Usually. If its a tough subject, i might pause a little. But still, i just react. I dont think much about it. Im not usually trying to be mean, although sometimes, i really dont care.

Im also sarcastic and a bit sassy, so if you are sensitive im likely to offend you/hurt your feelings. But once someone gets to know me, theyll know im just like that, i dont mean to be an asshole. It just comes naturally

You say what is on your mind. I take that you are strong minded and opinionated. Nothing wrong with being who you are

I am trying not to be blunt often and if I do it is only on special occasions and if it serves saving a friend. I am quite sensitive myself so I respect other people.

Your very thoughtful of others and that is reserved for serious matters

I have raised 3 children. Believe me when I say I can be, and have been, blunt. But, in my experience, when is bluntness not insesitive? I guess for me, it takes a lot of repetitive, negative behavior before I become blunt.
