I am a 43 year old woman, who came out her to California from Florida, to see about attending a culinary School, and find employment.
I am a born again Christian woman, and am looking to stay with other Christian People who can help me out with a place to stay, so I can achieve my goals, and find full time employment, and a school to get my degree. I am Single and it is only me. By having a coyote following me on Highway I North where I was backpacking, made me realize that coming out to California and Arizona to pursue my dreams and wishes I am only fooling myself. I tried to find a church to go to for worship services, but could not find one. One particular one I was looking for was the Wayfarer Ministeries.

Skee-lo, why the heck would you want to move to Florida? It's like friggin' amazon weather there in the summer time and even in the spring and fall it's unbearable. Another reason to stay here in California is, well, EVERYTHING is here. California just seems to have everything one would want, especially good, bearable weather. Florida is very economical to live in but one can make a decent living also in Orange County, LA--mainly the southern parts of the state.

Well, when me and my wife first moved to LA, it was great!!! We had a great house in a great neighborhood, raised a great family, including my two daughters!!! There was always something for us to do here as well! Me and my wife had good jobs and the kids went to a good school. In one line: CALIFORNIA WAS THE PLACE TO BE!!!!!!! Then, my wife died! The money wasn't coming in like it used to (And you know you need money to live ANYWHERE in California)!!! Then, we had a large earthquake out here. The damage to the house was just to much to pay for, so we sold the house and moved to another neighborhood. The neighborhood we live in now has crime! I won't even let my kids step outside the house after the sun has gone down! The schools here are, okay, compared to other schools in the area. My kids are also exposed to gangs here. My oldest kid was even given an offer to join the Bloods by one of the members (she said no, of course)!!!!!!!!!!!! Money seems to be getting shorter and shorter!!!! So, I have to do what I gotta do!!!! I have to leave! I might not go to Miami, though. Thier crime is almost as bad as L.A.'s! So I was thinking about Orlando!!! Well........that's the reason! Write Back!

Skee-lo--

I am so sorry that you lost your wife. I lost my Dad to lung cancer last year so I can empathize. I understand the gang problems --yes it is a huge problem and your kids were smart not to join. Gangs are made up of just misguided youths that have no ambition, no dreams and no brains.
DON'T move to Miami. Miami is considred to be the crime capital in this country right now. LA isn't as bad compared to Miami--no joke. Move to Orlando.

Thanks for that info and thanks for empathizing with me! It really means a lot! Yes, my daughters did refuse (the 1st time)!!!!! But that was last year! They have changed a little bit in the last couple of months! I mean, my oldest got into a fight after school one day! I don't know what the fight was over because they never told the truth! Then there was a time when she bought a red t-shirt! She never really liked red as far as I can remember! She is also a little more rebellious than before! So, if you ask me, I'm going to have to go ahead and assume that she IS A BLOOD!!!! However, I don't know for sure! I've asked her a lot and she gives me the same answer "NO"!!! However, I am still suspicious! What do you all think I should do?

First, are you sure that the Bloods all wear red shirts? It could be a fashion change that she's making. Also, you might want to go to your local police station and ask them-(just ask only) if they know about the Bloods gang--the cops might know a little about them and thier customs--like whether or not they wear red shirts. You might get some info on them. On the other hand, dealing with someone who lies all the time is a tough situation. It's hard to know when they're being honest with you. All I can say to that Skee lo is that, you're the father, you need to lay down the rules. Your daughter will either tell the truth and stay honest with you--and let her know that in return you will trust her, or she can move out. Really. I'm guessing she is a teen and teens like to have thier way. Let her know who's boss,

You're right! She is a Teen!!!!! However, she is a young one! I'm determined to find out if she is in a gang! I have went to the web site www.streetgangs.com! It tells you about the Crips and the Bloods and all about the way they do things! It turns out that Bloods do wear red shirts! I guess it is just to dangerous to wear the bandana around all day! I have checked her room top-2-bottom to see if I could find a bandana! I didn't find one! But according to the web site, most gang members will not let their leave thier side! They are to carry it with her everywhere they go! If they are caught without it, then that's thier a--!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
