The bearded Leo

A month or so ago, get an email from a Leo on the dating site. No real chemistry but he was articulate, good grammar and nice. He asks me for a drink, I ask for a phone call. Says he will call next day. Doesnt. Sends email that night explaining emergency with son, will call next day. Doesnt. Following day I email asking if I misunderstood...givng him benefit of the doubt and also challenging him to treat a woman better if he's changed his mind.

He replies at 1:00am, "I WAS going to write you tonight"..blah blah...met another woman and we really "Are into each other". Im sorry, hope you understand".

Yeah,,I understand you're a thoughtless dick who was NOT going to ever contact me. So guess what?

He's back......and here's how he presented himself:

"So hey.. Remember me? Apologies again for not getting back to you a while back. Any chance you are still interested in meeting or am I dog meat now?"

Uh yeah...he decides to do the "tail between the legs" thing....what a tool. This was my reply:

"Hello Michael,

Well I do remember your getting back to me.....after I emailed you asking why you didn't follow through on the phone call. Sounds like your liasion with that woman didn't work out? I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe rushing into something, or someone too quickly isn't a good idea?

I certainly can understand and respect your wanting to be monogamous when dating. It's refreshing to see that in a man actually. Sadly, though, because you didn't have the courtesy to get back to me without my reaching out, I'd have to pass. Integrity and class are huge character traits important to me in a potential mate.

Well, My buddy Joel Osteen says every turd we go through makes us one step closer to our dream man. On something like that.

Im sure this guy is kicking his self, he wasnt the best looking guy and he had an annoying habit of writing indirectly. Like "Went to the store today" or "wondering what your're doing". Always forgetting to add the word "I" at the begininng. LOL. Im sure that alone would've irritated the poopies outta me 😉

I should've explained the bearded part...he has a full gray beard, which I dont see often. Not Santa Claus looking beard, but more like a college professor.

I was going to let this go. Yes, I made a mistake not calling you, but I don't think I deserve being called out for not having class or integrity. Those are very important things to me. The fact of the matter is, I met someone and she fell hard for me and i fell hard for her. I lost track of time. I also cut off that relationship after a month because it was moving too fast and it was not good for me or her given where I am emotionally. It was a hard decision to make but it does align with my values and the circumstances around our personalities.

It does feel odd telling this to someone I've never met, essentially because of her caution.

I just want to leave you with one thought: Consider giving the next guy a break. Not for him, but for yourself. We are all works in progress.

I have to say I respect his reply. He is a true leo, isn't he? I replied back to him telling him so and apologized for my choice of words. I told him we should have a discussion on this topic sometime. Who knows, maybe he will become a friend.

I'ma just play around wid him to see if he'll let me play with his pee pee. 😛
