Whats up with this Libra guy?

Alright, so I understand that Libra's tend to be distant, while they figure out what they want, but it's so hard to gauge what is 'normal' and what is a red flag. I am a Capricorn. I approach things very logically, I want commitment and answers, quickly. Though I am able put on a very calm and cool front, I am going crazy inside my head trying to analyze things.

I have been seeing this Libra for a little over a month. Sometimes I feel like more of a fuckbuddy, and as a cap, this is something I just cant deal with, so I do pull back and get close to breaking it off. But then... He seems to be getting closer, but then he pulls back... then seems butt hurt that I either didnt chase him, or that I seem distant as well.

Last night he stayed over and made a point to bring vodka, wanted me to drink it with him. After he had a few drinks in him. He said "I love you" Twice.... Both times I didnt know how to respond ...so I didnt. (Damnit me, WTF?!) - I guess I wasnt sure how to react. He always seems so all over the map. and I really dont want to be told that someone loves me for the first time when they have been drinking. - Not sure if its a blessing or a curse, but in the morning he seemed to have no memory of how he got to bed (which would most likely mean he doesnt remember saying "I love you")

So, I guess my question is - What do I make of that drunk "I love you" - Do libras throw the love word around when drinking? ..or is it possible he has developed genuine feelings and had to be drunk to say it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

You're right though. Nothing wrong with being honest. I think I will brush it off, and if it happens again, i'm just going to call him out on it, and ask him what the deal is.

Hey Sugarfoot, thanks for weighing in.I feel so bad for not saying it back, because I do feel it too.

I was actually close to breaking it off with him, because it was only a couple days ago that he was telling me that it's going to be "a while" before he knows how he feels, and then 2 days later he throws the word love at me. Everything just seems so uncertain and confusing. Not sure if it's always like this with Libra's or what, but its a bit of an emotional roller coaster.

It is odd that only a couple days prior he was saying he doesn't know how he feels." - hmm, I hope not, though, the other day when he told me that it would be a while before he knew how he feels, I did tell him that I was just going to try not get my feelings involved, and keep my options open, because I do want commitment, and he clearly isnt sure he does at this point. - I wonder if he took that to mean that I need him to validate our relationship...

It's a good instinct on his part to take it slow though. You don't want a libra pressing on full speed ahead, just to wake up and smell the coffee six mos later thinking, "WTH have I gotten myself into?"

From this little bit of information it sounds like neither of you know what you want.

Personally, I wouldn't use empty words or alcohol to get sex. Plus, like Sugarfoot pointed out, that bridge had already been crossed. There'd be no need (even for a dirt bag) to play that game.

You said right up front here that you want answers and commitment, yet you have been close to breaking it off several times, and it's only been a month? You go on to say you're not getting your feelings involved. Why should he jump in if you're still dipping your toe? If you are hot and cold, he will be too.

I also agree 100% with the idea of "I'd rather have a hard truth than a sweet lie", any day of the week. Especially if you expect me to be serious about the topic.

Now, all that said... You seem to have some serious concerns about this guy. I'm not jumping in his corner here just putting myself in his spot. Maybe he is an asshole and playing games, I don't know. Talk to him. If he wasn't sure two days ago and he is now, it's fair game to ask what made him sure. If it's legit he'll have something to say.
