There was an old thread similar to this, but it's so old I couldn't find it, so I just started a new one.

Anyway, ladies, I wanted to share some info with you about some really good "pretty products" (lol, that's what I call them, because I like to be a nerd whenever possible). And since I have the insider's edge now that I work in the beauty industry, I know all the juice about what's really good, and what's a rip-off. 🙂 Knowing juice is fun!

So, the other day I purchased a bunch of stuff from Sally Beauty Supply (the real store, cuz they don't have an online one), and I could not be more thrilled, ecstatic and generally overjoyed with my purchases.

Here's what I bought:

Use the Last Call conditioning masque (which smells really great) in the shower (I leave it on for about five minutes) after you shampoo, then if you want extra shiny hair, rinse with cold water (but I refuse to go through such torture when our heater is broken and it's freezing where I live. lol, you can certainly rinse with warm water).

The Lusterizing Cream also smells great and is like a very light consistency lotion to smooth your hair and give it more shine.

The Frizz Zapper ALSO smells yummy and is a more concentrated serum-like product that will define your waves or curls (in my opinion) while giving even more shine.

And I forgot to mention two more products I bought:

http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/product.asp?dept% 5Fid=1225&pf% 5Fid=600030">Happy Hair Lusterizer. This is a product that many professionals use in salons as a finishing mist to give yet even more sheen and shine (can you tell I'm obsessed with shine?! lol)

And here's another great one:

http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/product.asp?dept% 5Fid=1320&pf% 5Fid=140104">Super Sexy Styling Sauce by Beyond the Zone. This is for people who don't like the stickiness or hardness of gel, but who need control and wave or curl definition but not to the point of over-emphasis like you'd get with a scrunching product or a hairspray, wax, pomade, that sort of thing. This kept my curly wave things loose but defined, and never weighed down or dull looking.

Feel free to ask me beauty questions now ladies. lol, I know way more than I ever wanted to about all kinds of products 😢🙂😢 lol

M.A.C. is a great line for lipsticks and liners. I've never tried their face make-up though. But I hear it's good. It's just so damned expensive! I use Maybelline True Illusion Concealer on any trouble areas, then I follow by using a fluffy brush to lightly dust on Maybelline True Illusion Pressed Powder. They recently raised their prices, which is irritating because they used to be one of the less expensive brands. But, I have found that they are the best quality you can get on a budget. For blush, which I only use really in the winter when my skin is at its palest, I use Cover Girl Classic Color in "Natural Glow" (a neutral peachy shade that compliments any skin tone). I just bought some new lipstick, it's actually a lipcolor/gloss all in one, gloss on one end and color on the other. It's called Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor in "Endless Spice". I'm very happy with the color but not so happy with the gloss (it wears off in like five minutes). It wasn't worth the $ 8.99 I paid for it, especially since you only get .006 fl. ounces (no joke!)...but, it does last a long time and the color is pretty. For mascara, I use waterproof (cuz who knows when you might cry, lol) Maybelline Great Lash in brownish-black. I never use eyeliner, and I almost never use eyeshadow except for very special occasions. I think eyeliner looks too dramatic and harsh on me.
