Similar but more painting and drawing than writing unless it's specifically something I want to get across in the form of writing like a passive aggressive piece of poetry that is so vague even I wouldn't know what I was writing about a day later but it sounds good.
I've always found the arts to be very cathartic. I've never mentioned it on here, but I'm a musician.click to expand

Since a child my escape; my release and rebirth has always been through writing. It comforts me a lot. I'm not one to out right say how I feel; emotionally if I'm extremely hurt. Lately however, I've been getting better at it. Before I would shut down; walk in to my little place of peace and quit and write, write and cry. Crying to me also helps release Whats so harbored inside of us.
I decided to share this; because sometime's when not on DXP trying to find hope; one can do it through just writing, this helps with the art of moving on and letting go. If you are in to other forms of art; playing instruments; painting; whatever it may be explore it; to explore what's going in inside you.

I believe this is something worth sharing, since I do a lot of it. To me writing is the purest form of communication to reveal a lot of what is going on with in your inner self. Free flowing to me is the soul projecting what's hidden , what you don't want to reveal openly to yourself so you tuck it away to not think of the emotions.
No matter my mood; I write; I usually do it while listening to music(classical, mostly violins and cello) I don't think of what in going to write about; I just take a deep breath; exhale and let my mind and heart open up and translate all that is up above in my head on paper. Once I'm done I either put my note book away of read it for reflection. I don't insert anything( do correct spelling).
Once I've let go of that chapter or current emotion in my life, I always revisit my writing and read it to myself, and it does make me cry or smile to re-read what was shattered or whole at the time.
Does anyone do healing through writing? Or reflect on day to day life and write it down on paper?
Do you believe that this form of release can help you heal from a broken heart, or help you discover you again?
A large portion of my heartbreak a few years back was eased through writing and music, I started a thread about it in the virgo forum because writing is so important to how I communicate.click to expand

Plus when you're writing, it's just YOU in the moment.
No one is there to distract you. No one is there to cut you off or interrupt you.
No one is there to get you off track with your feelings.
And most people don't have that. For most people, when they try verbally speaking their feelings/thoughts, it just leaves room for others to interrupt, criticize or tune out, whereas writing kind commands your attention in the same way that a firm voice does
