thank you elle for the wonderful insight and information. that is interesting what you said about joseph kony not being the one they should be after. which makes me wonder what the governments in africa are thinking about all of this, because it is my belief that if anyone should take action against the problem, then why not the government itself? it is my assumption that the surrounding governments will have to take action inevitably, because after all, the opposition is the rebels, and who would they rebel against but their government? i immensely applaud these people for what they are doing and their fierce loyalty and determination for this mission. as for the individuals who are jealous for whatever reason, no comment.

I know that this post may sound extremely heartless but that's just how I view it. No child should have to wake up in fear of their lives, but I don't see the need in investing money and time to deploy troops to Africa for something that has no affect on the U.S.

apparently children should have to 'wake up in fear of their lives' since your objection here is for time and money.

There's always shit happening in the world. You have governments in the Middle East slaughtering women and children for absolutely NO reason, there are kids being sold into prostitution EVERYDAY. It seems to me like Kony is just another thing going on in the world. I'm also a little weary of the fact that he ALL OF SUDDEN become such a problem. Let's be for real. The government knew/knows what's going on in Africa. They knew 26 years ago and they know now. Why didn't they intervene when it first started happening?

because the government has the same thinking of you- that 'does it have anything to do with us? no? thought so. not important enough to even think about'.

which is why the goal is to award Kony the infamy of fame, so that when The People are informed, then action will follow.

i understand why you are suspicious tho. ive heard some people talking of a possible CIA tactic being used here on the basis of the fact that there are huge oil fields in africa.

There are huge oil fields in the US (and Canada I think, although I could have that totally wrong) I have no idea why you do not go to OPEC and say,

"We will give you $ 10 a barrel. Take it or leave it."

See how long they hold out. Man up. We are no better - our govt has no balls either😢
At least the US can make a bit of noise and be heard.
