As reading/learning about astrology and signs I am more and more curious about Moon sign and its role, effect on us in general.

My Moon is in 8,12?? Cancer in 12th house. It has very strong effect on me.

I always wondered why am I so emotional (while being generally rational), caring/giving,moody, why am I like a sponge for emotions of other people, or why do I feel their emotions so strongly, even when they don't show it, I can sense it "underneath the surface". I feel it almost like waves, like I have some receptors on my skin 😄 I wondered why am I so intuitive and sometimes my rational mind is giving opinions and conclusions about some person or event, but my feelings would shout differently, without evident reason, but simply by "picking-up the vibe". At the end, my first feeling about the person/event came to be correct.

I never considered myself a "typical" Libra (like my mother that has Sund and Moon in Libra), which is my Sun sign. I feel my Libra characteristics take place when I am in a situation where I have to act objectively, practical. Especially when I have to give some opinion where my emotions are not engaged.

Other Cancer Mooners out there, what do you like and what do you don't like about your Moon sign? Or where do you find it useful, like job for example (to put it like that)?

Also, I've read that when Moon in Cancer is in 12th house, it is like the effect of it is doubled, more intense, is that true?

How important is the Moon in relation with the Sun sign?

Thx

The Moon is tied more to an individuals mind (or inward nature), some astrologers believe that the Moon is who a person really is (how a person acts at home/night). The Sun is geared more towards a persons ego and is what a person aspires to be (how a person acts in the public/day).

So I figured it this way pretty much.

Having a Moon in Cancer would denote an individual that is deeply sensitive/receptive with their feelings and the feelings of others. Moon in the 12th house (of Pisces) adds to your level of sensitivity but brings with it characteristics of intuition, imagination, and selflessness. This combination could make a person prone to escapism, or have a need for solitude in order to "recharge". Since the Moon is your mind (inner self) its placement in the 12th house may mean that you keep a part of your mind (inner self) secluded or away from others, which could lead to feelings of loneliness.

When I was younger I guess my Moon was more dominant then now. I was like that; secluding myself often in writing, drawing,my own imaginitive world, feeling as the ocean of emotions is in me. Now it has chilled down a bit. Though now, I feel even more intuitive then before. But my sun sign is slowly coming out. Need for socialization is stronger and I don't really like spending too much time alone, drift away and be unrealistic as before. Now I can't let myself loose that much.

Side Note: Usually men display more of their Sun sign characteristics, while women display more of their Moon sign characteristics. Men are more concerned with their ego, while women are more concerned with their mind (inward nature).

Very true.
What about people with same Sun and Moon sign? Does it make them more "in tune"? I assume that maybe some signs are better when in Moon then in Sun and vise versa - showing better qualities or flaws.
Is it true that as the person grows older his sun sign become stronger or is it different for every individual- example:one has a very strong ego(sun sign)at play so he/she has to learn how to bring his/her emotional self (moon sign) more in front or in balance?

Cancer is ruled by the moon, and only the moon, so when you have the moon in it's own sign it will emphasise the characteristics positive and negative, it pretty much rules you!!!

But conjuctions, trines and opposites also matter.

Right! Thanks 🙂 That is what I have read.

Is it then when the Moon is in Cancer that it is the strongest in that position? Has more effect then in some other sign?

I have a difficult time managing my Moon and often find it draining on my personal energy. Much like what you described I feel like a walking antenna for the emotions of others, sometimes to the point where dealing with large crowds or navigating parties leaves me physically exhausted and in a near constant state of fatigue until I can get some alone time to clear my head.

I can't say that I appreciate the kneejerk emotional reactivity of the placement. As a Virgo with an Aqua rising I pride myself on the ability to maintain a rational mind and approach to the world. Being so mood driven and impressionable is not conducive to that process. However, I will note that the lengthy memory and intuitive abilities provided by the Cancer Moon are of great value.

Moon in Cancer, 15??, 5th house

square Mercury
sextile Mars
quincunx Saturn
trine Pluto
sesquiquadrate Asc.

Close friends used to tell me: you are very emotional, but yet very strong. That kind of intensity of emotions would crush me.
I aslo would feel drained, that is why I try to meditate as often as I can or when I feel I really need it. Always wanted to gain control over my emotions - not to suppres them, wanted them to go right through me, to really feel them - but to keep my mind still as much as I can.

Also I've been told that if I am feeling good, happy, satisfied, the whole room shines and I simply radiate by positivism, but if I am in a bad mood it can be felt so strongly that it fills the room with coulds. That used to iritate me cause I couldn't hide how I feel that day and always felt responsible. I mean come on, I have all rights on a bad mood day!

I had experiences to pass/stay by a certain starnger and feel his/her vibe so strongly coming from them. Once I felt such an unconfortable, scary vibe from some young man. I felt dizzy and like choking, my eyesight was somehow narrowing. His vibe was so disturbingly negative, he was giving me chills by passing by him. I simply felt him. I told my boyfriend I really have to leave this place (bookstore) cause I don't want to be near that person or I will crush on the floor.

Anyhow, I never understood the background of all that, but now I think it is my Cancer Moon in act. Thx a bunch for shareing, I will read about it more 😉

I have this too. That's why I get really tired when I'm around people all of the time. I can really enjoy being on my own and just feel what I feel instead of constantly feeling the 'mood' of rooms change. On birthdays I can get really quiet when I feel that something's off, it affects my behavior and state of mind a lot. I didn't know that came from my cancer moon too, I just thought it'd be my 'emotional' moon combined with my 'introvert' capricorn sun.
