The Conjunction is considered a very powerful aspect in astrology. In some cases, a conjunction can even overshadow the influence of a sign. Examples: Sun conjunct Mars in Pisces, Moon conjunct Neptune in Capricorn, Moon conjunct Pluto in Sagittarius, Mars conjunct Neptune in Capricorn, etc. This is particularly true when tight orb conjunctions are present in a chart.

Since we don't have a "Moon Planets" forum, I've decided to create a thread to discuss planets in aspect to the Moon by conjunction.

--

I have a Scorpio Moon conjunct Mars and Pluto. Mars, being the closest planet to my Moon, is the most dominant. It feels like an Aries Moon but on steroids, and without the child-like innocence Aries brings to the table. Nonetheless, very similar. It makes me feel overtly courageous, excitable, passionate, and impulsive (in a controlled manner due to the Scorpio influence). It's a strong and violent energy.

Here is the description of the "Mars Moon" and the Aries Moon. Very similar in nature.

MOON CONJUNCT MARS:
The emotional life is animated and excited with this aspect. People with Moon conjunct Mars in their natal charts can actually feel warm. They're hot-blooded, passionate, and sexual people. Most have considerable energy and intitiative at their disposal. They are brave and spontaneous. There is an inherent pressure to perform and to prove oneself on a personal level, which sometimes spills into the professional arena, but taken alone, it points to a defensive nature that doesn't easily relax.

There is a bluntness and straightforwardness to these people that is unmistakable. Although they are completely ready to defend and protect their loved ones, they are not especially sympathetic on a more personal level. They'll most definitely defend the "weak", but they are too emotionally excitable, self-absorbed, and brusque to be considered gentle and sympathetic folk! They're brave and they value personal freedom. Routine bores them, and they are inclined to seek out excitement in some form. Spontaneous to a fault, these people react quickly to stimuli. They are usually physically resilient. Their temper is quick, but it can disappear just as rapidly. Theirs is a raw passion.

MOON IN ARIES:
Nothing quite happens soon enough with this position of the Moon. There is an inherent impatience with getting what they want. Life is a series of emergencies for Lunar Ariens. They live in the moment and have a hard time waiting for things to happen. Whims of the moment take absolute precedence in their lives.

This is a fiery position of the moon. Even if the Sun or rising sign is more low-key, Moon in Aries people possess inner passion and fire. Emotional issues take precedence--there is simply no pussy-footing around when it comes to dealing with the feelings. And, dealing with new sentiments and needs stirs up a huge desire for activity. Moon in Aries has a need for acting out their needs, with no time to waste. It is hard for them to see the long-term, or to wait for things to happen. Instant gratification rules!

I have 4 extremely strong conjunctions in my chart...

Same here. Which planets in your chart form tight conjunctions? I have Uranus and Saturn in conjunction with the Sun. It doesn't overpower the Sagittarius influence, though the effects are hard to ignore. It adds an Uranus in Capricorn flavor to my Sagittarian personality. I'm very cautious and somewhat restricted, yet independent, quite rebellious, and in favor of change/reforms but not for their own sake, only when necessary.

They are not exact conjunctions (within the same degree) but close...

I have two conjunctions. Moon conjunct Mars is one of them. Mercury conjunct Venus is the other.

"The emotional life is animated and excited with this aspect. People with Moon conjunct Mars in their natal charts can actually feel warm."

This is so true. My family/friends always joke that I am going to spontaneously combust one day. 🙂

Moon conjunct Mars. High five. 😄

Moon conjunct Mars is a beast. Here's another description of this combination:

"The conjunction of the Moon and Mars shows much emotional anxiety and impatience. It is an aspect that seems to energize emotions and those emotions may often come out with Martian or aggressive qualities. Your feelings are usually very active, and always in a state of turmoil. In short, your emotions are intense. This conjunction can show passions that are very ardent and demanding, and actions can sometimes be blind to caution and common sense. There are tendencies that may lead you to accomplish much if you can only guide these energies with some wisdom. Often, however, a more destructive vindictive facet to the personality results from this aspect."

Moon conjunct Midheaven

"Moon conjunct MC
You are expert at perceiving or anticipating the public mood. Your instinct for group psychological dynamics may place you in the role of leader or facilitator in group situations. You have deep insight into feelings and emotional needs. Recognition for you will be for your role as nurturer or nourisher."

Yep.
Professionally, I have been told it may be my calling to predict future trends (especially design and color trends.) If I start liking some pattern or color that I previously had no interest in...guaranteed it's the next trend everytime.
Socially, I'm the "mom" in my group of friends...I'm always the one cooking, making decisions, doing people's dishes, etc.

Also, this placement is said to be influenced by ones mother...especially professionally...which is creepily true for me.
(My mom also happens to be a Leo, which is my Moon) We are so much alike, it's sick.
I am finishing my degree in Interior Design at the moment, and growing up I remember my mom always loved decorating and I remember watching HGTV and all those other home improvement shows with her.

MOON CONJUNCT MERCURY ^ similar to Moon in Gemini ..

With Moon conjunct Mercury, these people sometimes have a direct pipeline to their emotions and feelings, and are able to talk about them easily. On the other hand, there can be a tendency to rationalize feelings to the point that feelings are rarely felt. This is because the Moon is the feeling function and Mercury represents the lower mind--the part of our minds that processes information, analyzes impressions, and sorts things out. In some ways, Moon conjunct Mercury is similar to Moon in Gemini.

Moon conjunct Mercury people are accommodating and curious, but they are not as well equipped to handle heavy emotional demands. Instead of allowing themselves to feel on a pure level, these people are constantly asking themselves how they feel. The need to define their feelings rather than experience them as is can be a problem. On the other hand, they are experts at communicating with sensitivity. They are also true problem solvers--completely confident that any predicament can be solved by analyzing the issue and logically arriving at an answer. They are helpful people who possess an inherent and natural concern for others. Sometimes, their advice feels a little bit too logical and rational...sometimes. There is also a distinct sensitivity to criticism, or perceived criticism, of their ideas and intellect.

There is a twinkle in their eyes, and these people are never short on humor. They are playful and versatile--they make fun companions and interesting friends. They listen! Yes, they do talk and occasionally interrupt in their excitement, but they are curious people who do want to hear what you have to say, and that is a real pleasure. In fact, they are more able than most people to get you talking, simply because they are very receptive and sympathetic.

MOON IN GEMINI - The zodiacal sign of Gemini seeks mental stimulation as well as intellectual rapport in relationships and they prefer to keep the atmosphere light and comfortable rather than indulge in too much emotionalism. Furthermore, extreme heaviness and intensity can cause them to detach, become analytical, dissociated and evasive. Gemini is a mutable (adaptable) air sign (detachment) and so they are often hard to —pin down?? emotionally. They are prone to boredom and changeability and so they often have plenty of distractions at home to keep them occupied.

..cont'd

Discussions need to be free, clear and intellectual and not shrouded by difficult emotional undertones. Gemini enjoys humour, mimicry! (yes..lol), trivia and word games, moreover, anything that uses logic to make relevant connections in social situations.

**Especially accurate, since my Aqua Moon's also in the Gemini* Decanate, as well ..

Nice topic, btw.. (Interesting, the similarities of Conjunctions to planetary sign/combo's; not enough air-play..)

Moon conjunct Chiron

"When Chiron is attached to the Moon, either in the natal chart or via synastry, the Moon’s natural need to be fed, cherished and securely attached is never satisfied. We learn early on that the manifest world is not our refuge. It is replaced by an endless hunger that rarely abates until later life, and which can be easily re-stoked by circumstance. If we have the aspect in the natal chart, we are born with the sense that nothing is secure, but we make sad attempts to make ourselves secure anyway. These attempts are doomed to failure: any attempt at finding personal security in manifest reality, including ‘other’ is folly. And yet the hunger doesn’t go away. How we cope with the hunger defines our character. At first, this hunger represents our need for security, but as time goes on we become aware that something else is calling to us.

Chiron/Moon, more than any other aspect of Chiron, is prone to be the outsider, the ‘other.’ Chiron/Moon children, especially, are often the scapegoats on the block. We come into this world with the sense of not fitting in, something is ‘wrong’ with us. We may try to isolate ourselves from experience, but the hungry Moon keeps drawing us back into ordinary life again, only to tell us that we don’t belong (again). Attempts to try to fit in are also doomed. We know deep in our bones that we are not like ‘them,’ and yet are hard pressed to know why.

The Moon also represents our physical being, and Chiron/Moon people often have difficulties with the whole concept of being embodied. Again, there is the sense that something is wrong with them, something is preventing them from being ‘normal.’ Often, Chiron/Moon people have some kind of physical issue that stamps them as different, and often we feel it first when we are very young: too fat, too thin, limb deformities, skin markings, or something else that those little fascists otherwise known as children deem unusual and ripe for culling. Hair too curly, hair too straight, anything can cause a psychic wound with Chiron/Moon. This is only the beginning of a life long battle with the material/manifest world itself."
