Favorite Stanley Kubrick films

In my Opinion he's the greatest director of all time even though he didn't make very many movies. But any movie that he did make always seemed to be a masterpiece. My favorite movie of his was Full Metal Jacket. I also like The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, and Spartacus. Eyes Wide Shut was okay but not as good as his others. I still need to see 2001:Space Oddysey, Barry Lyndon, Dr. Strangelove, and his early movies from the 50's that I hear are masterpieces as well.

So what are your favorite Stanley Kubrick films?

I hate Clock work orange.. (because I never understand the violation)...

But the rest is absolutely genius? specially 2001? but hell.. the credit must be shared with legendary Arthur C. Clarke.. it was his idea and story.. you will never understand the film without at least reading the book several times..

Clockwork Orange was great, just like the book! Though it was hard on my glazzies looking up all the slang.

Yeah he adapted the screenplay from Arthur C. Clarke's book but most of the screenplays that he did write were adapted. The Shining was originally written by Stephen King and King supposedly hated Kubrick's adaptation. I thought it was brilliant. You would think that Stephen King would like it too considering most of his books that were made into movies were mediocre or total crap.

Dr.Strangelove is the best movie ever, it's so clever and silly and hardcore all over the place. The characters and actors are so brilliant.

2001 wasn't adapted from the book, it even was released before the book. They were developed together though.

I'm gonna have to make a trip to Blockbuster soon.

I'm kinda tempted to buy the box set.

I rather 2001, but dr lovestrange which featured da future darth vader(voice)Jame Earl Jones was good. As a matter of fact it is poignant since it relates would could happen soon.
