I'm so excited! It's September 2nd at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon. I hope he sings some old stuff...like..."Octopus's Garden"...or just anything from the Beatles. He's such a cutie pie! I hope he drums.
I'm Going To See Ringo Starr!
I also hope they're selling some cheesy Ringo T-shirts or something, because I'm a souvenir Freak...and I'd totally buy one. 🙂
Shut up!! Shut up and get out!!
I LOVE Photograph!!

Parallax...he did "Photograph", it was great. It's one of the few classic Ringo songs he did. The concert as a whole was great, I could list all the special guests he had but it would take forever for me to remember...the ones I recall off the top of my head: Sheila E. (her and Ringo did a bunch of drumming together; it blew the roof off, really, quite awesome)...John Waite ("I Ain't Missin' You at All" etc...he's an *ass*, btw...), and a couple other semi-famous people, who had great songs back in the day. Oh...that guy who did "Tempted" ("Tempted by the fruit of another, tempted but the truth is discovered", blah blah blah)....they were all good songs but I confess I mainly just wanted to see Ringo. He's a funny one. 😛 They all did a group version of "Here Comes The Sun", but strangely...Ringo literally ran off the stage and didn't sing or drum or anything for that one. I wonder if it's because it was emotional for him, George being gone and all of that. It was haunting, though, a capella. And they were all very talented singers, so it sounded good...but it was weird that Ringo ran offstage during it. But then, he *is* a Cancer, you know. Kidding. 🙂
He also sang a beautiful tribute song he'd written just for George. Lyrics like, "you'll be with us forever", "you're with me everywhere I go" etc. Very nice. And he did "Yellow Submarine", which the entire crowd sang with him, very cute. 🙂 He didn't do "Octopus's Garden". 😢 Whimper. But it was alright. Overall the concert was worth the money.
I sang every word to Photograph! 😛 He really did a good job on that one; sang it exactly like the original.
I'll be honest, I wished for more of Ringo; less of "Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band". But...I think he's "done" with the Beatles in a lot of ways. He said something at one point, something like, "and this is a song from...that other band I used to be in". lol. And I can understand.
He's tiny, in person, by the way...really a small guy. I knew he was short, but he's also very skinny. lol. No reason for mentioning that, other than, it's always weird when you picture someone a certain way, but then they look different in person; especially when they're famous. He's a cutie pie though. I had 10X binoculars, even though we were sitting somewhat close, and I saw like every detail of his face. He doesn't look anywhere near as old as he is. The only strange thing was, he wore sunglasses...at night. Outdoors. At Night. It was Dark. 😛
Silly Ringo.

I posted some depressing stuff. So I'm paying my Karmic debt in advance by posting something happy. 🙂
Photograph - Ringo Starr
Everytime I see your face
It reminds me of the places we used to go
But all I've got is a photograph
And I realize you're not coming back anymore
I thought I'd make it
The day you went away
But I can't make it
Till you come home again to stay
I can't get used to living here
While my heart is broke, my tears I cry for you
I want you here to have and hold
As the years go by, and we grow old and gray
Now you're expecting me to live without you
But that's not something that I'm looking forward to
I can't get used to living here
While my heart is broke, my tears I cry for you
I want you here to have and hold
As the years go by, and we grow old and gray
Everytime I see your face
It reminds me of the places we used to go
But all I've got is a photograph

...Through a little investigating I managed to find a playlist on the internet that someone put together, and it is the very same playlist they went by at the Britt Festival.
I'd forgotten they did a lot of these!
I'm talking to myself and I don't care! lol... 😛
In Order of Performance (I'm adding side comments):
It Don't Come Easy (Ringo Starr) - Very well done, just like the original. Very good choice for an opening song.
Honey Don't (Ringo Starr) - "Eh." 🙂
Memphis in Your Mind (Ringo Starr) - Very Eh.
How Long (Paul Carrack) - QUITE good. The famous song about cheating..."how long has this been goin' on..." etc. Good singer. Well done.
Down Under (Colin Hay) - FUN!! Everyone sang along to this. They even had the flute noises. 😛 Plus, EVERYONE screamed out "VEGEMITE SANDWICH!" lol. I just thought it was cute.
Isn't It Time? (John Waite) - Eh. Barely.
Love Bizarre (Sheila E) - No opinion; I'm neutral. Which means, "it didn't do much for me either way".
Boys (Ringo Starr) - A fun old Beatles song, from their earlier days. I'd never heard it before, but I knew it existed. Was done fairly well.
Overkill (Colin Hay) - Don't even remember it. So it couldn't have been *outstanding*...
Act Naturally (Ringo Starr) - Very good.
You're Sixteen (Ringo Starr) - Very VERY cute. "You're sixteen, you're beautiful, and you're mine", sung by Ringo, is very charming. He was flirting pre-song with all the "ladies" in the audience. 😛 "Are there any young ladies in the audience tonight?" (screams) "Are there any olderladies in the audience tonight?" (more screams)..."Are there any ladies at all in the audience tonight?" (screams and laughter)
Yellow Submarine (Ringo Starr) - SO MUCH FUN...we all sang along.
New York City Girl ( John Waite) - Didn't even know the song existed...and don't remember it now, either. 🙂
Here Comes the Sun (the band) - See above post for commentary.
Never Without You (Ringo Starr) - THIS was the tribute song to George Harrison. It was very emotional. I mean, I don't think anybody actually cried, but you could feel it. A group wistfullness.
Don't Pass Me By (Ringo Starr) - Cute. Very cute.
No No Song (Ringo Starr) - Also cute.
Tempted (Paul Carrack) - Very good. Nothing changed (I hate when they sing it different from the original), so that was good. About this time, I had to ... well let's just say I'd drank a bit (only a bit), and I was getting restless. 😛 I kept thinking, "do a crappy song so I can go to the ladies room!!" lol...
When I See You Smile (John Waite) - It was nice. I didn't like the guy's personality AT ALL, but I'll give him that the song was good. He didn't slack.
Glamorous Life (Sheila E) - Yes! Potty time!! lol...I still got to hear most of it though. The crowd was...almost more into HER than Ringo. But I will agree that she is a mesmerizing performer, and it was so LOUD and such that it was very energizing for the crowd. That chick can drum...really...really well.
I Wanna Be Your Man (Ringo Starr) - Quite cute.
Missing You (John Waite) - A classic song, done very well. I'm not missing John Waite, though. 🙂
Who Can It Be Now (Colin Hay) - HAUNTING...very good.
Photograph (Ringo Starr) - Need I say a word?
Don't Go Where the Road Don't Go (Ringo Starr) - Eh. It had a message to it, though, and it was listenable.
With a Little Help From My Friends (Ringo Starr) - Come on! A great last song. It was like...one big voice, bouncing off the mountains surrounding the stage.
There you have it!
I'll shut up about Ringo now. 🙂

I'm going to see the band Train in a couple months...wiggle...get ready...I'll certainly report back to you about it. Do you really think I have writing skills (blush)? And do you really think I belong in the music business? And if so, thanks, it's nice to have your support.
Definitely something to think about. I've been mulling over the idea of somehow helping along my Australian musician friend and his band by somehow (I have no idea how one would do this) promoting their band for them in the states. That would be something I would enjoy.
It's very cool that you were being genuine when you said those things (I really knew that you were, but I suppose my Mars being in Virgo and all prompted me to make *absolutely* sure...hehehe)...Thank you so much for the compliments and suggestions. They are not going unnoticed. 🙂
