I like the one about "when it's summertime, and the weather is hot, you can blah blah blah (forgot the words) and blah blah blah, sing along with us, dee dee dee dee dee, do do da da da, yeah we're hap-hap-y...when the weather is fine, you got women, you got women on your mind..."
I went to Boot Camp in Great Lakes ("Great Mistakes") for the Navy (*N ever *A gain *V olunteer *Y ourself*) Chicago was the closest place to go visit on leave.
Re: Michigan & Great Lakes.. I don't know the difference.. the closest thing to base was some town called Waukeegan, where they did incredible ice sculptures.. Chicago was like 40 miles by fast train. (That was fun too.. got rooked in my first shell game.. Never again.)
BTW Yes, I liked the Navy. But all branches of service have their bad moments.. It really is "Hurry Up and Wait".. for any service member. Go here, do this, shutup, and wait for further instructions. (It's also where we got the phrase.. "I dunno, do something.. Mill about smartly. " 😛 )
rofl, that's funny, your phrase. Love that. Could use that throughout my day and would apply to many situations I get "put" in. 😛
I'm glad that you liked the Navy. I like people who like the military. Which sounds weird. But maybe, being a smart Virgoan, you will get what I mean. lol.
Shell game.. Not shells actually (or "anymore") but 3 cups and a "pea" or bean, etc.) The small object placed under a cup.. much shuffling, and then you guess which cup the items' under. If right, you get a certain amount of cash. If wrong, you lose that amount of cash. (And.. unfortunately, the dealer's never wrong.. so you always get taken.. "rooked".)
Shell games usually occur in front or near large crowds.. like near a bar, at the corner, etc. The fair grounds now.. (I like those very much) .. It is fun to try to win the goldfish, etc. Or the huge stuffed animals. Those games are semi-rigged as well, but it's alot more fun, and you "know" when you should quit.
You know, I've never actually played any of those games at the fair. Well, maybe a couple times when I was little. I tried to talk my ex into playing one for me, because I really wanted this adorable huge pink elephant stuffed animal, but he didn't go for it. He wanted to play the video games instead.
I'd like to win big, in that respect, but it would be hard to beat the system they have. Rigged to be very tough. Shame about the video games. (Today's computers have made video parlors mostly obsolete.)
You have any particular rides that you liked to go on?
Not at the fair, no. Fair rides kind of make you think about your mortality. lol. Or maybe that's just me.
Now, theme parks, I love the roller coasters there...seem safer. Soarin' Over California I love, as well as California Screamin'. I'm going to Knott's Berry Farm this next May, and I love a lot of the coasters there (but not Ghostrider! I thought I was really going to die on that one).
I liked the mortality comparison.. Lemme think.. There was one ride at the fairgrounds I liked.. "The Black Widow".. an octopus legged black beastie.. Brought you up and down, and the 2 seater chair would spin in circles. I liked.
I like coasters, very much. It's been too long since I've gone on any though. I absolutely loved a kind that had you standing up in-place, with a huge padded rail surrounding you. (very secure feeling) and even went upside down once. There was something about being able to stand up.. that made it less scary, more enjoyable, and no less exilerating. (seriously msp) I'm pressed for time here! See email..
She has this song; I don't believe it was ever released to radio stations. It's called Serve The Ego, and it's very prolific (yet simple). I like it a lot. Kind of interesting the way it addresses the actual disco era and the "me" generation of the 197
Look at me, my depth perception must be off again 'Cause this hurts deeper than I thought it did It has not healed with time It just shot down my spine You look so beautiful tonight
it's a choir music. and it's long. but really good. to but it in non-musical trems as to the way it goes. u've seen a baptist sermon it's like that slow, climax and slow decline. it's really good. I'm a tenor. ttul
i just got a CD from an uncle/cousin person and he said it was good odd and tribal in a different language so I just put it on the other day and OMG it is sooo good!
I think the language is Italian and the music is sort of a mix between Enya
What are your favorite songs that sort of define your teenage years? Sometimes I hear something on the radio and I think, "oh my gosh, I remember exactly what was going on in my life and how old I was when that was popular". But I definitely have favori

is anyone else out there obsessed with music from this decade? I think it's one of the best decades in music history. And I love disco. I also love all the folk songs, like anything by james taylor, carole king, carly simon, the list goes on.
-they all have commercials on at the same time -you only notice the radio noise when the commecials are on, never when the music is on -the music is all repetitive-never anything new -the really r
too all that listen to all kinds of music including some hard rock the new linkin park cd is out and so far it is intense and pretty damn passionate with their art and music.
I really like most of their stuff, but I have like three or four or five very favorite songs that I am very partial to. Their voices are beautiful...did you know they were born either on the same day or one day apart? And they're both scorpios, which is
I heard this on some commercial for a car--then I looked it up and found out it's been done by a bunch of singers. Rod Stewart being one of them (dork alert, but it's still a kickass song)!
So, I'm obsessed with this new song they have out called "Seven Nation Army" or something like that. But I can't find the lyrics to it anywhere, not even on the band's website. Can someone help me out? I'd really like to know what the guy is saying. I
Here's a good one (and good cover songs are rare): "We Can Work It Out" sung by Heather Nova. Originally by The Beatles of course. It's nice, download it if you can.
Try to see it my way Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on <
