Third time is a charm—!!!

My Scorpio ex and I are trying to make it work for the third time!!! We met in 1999, moved to Atlanta in 2000, broke up in 2001 and I moved back to PA. 3 months later we were together again courtesy of me driving to GA to get him. We broke up again in 2004 and it was ugly, I moved to Jersey and wouldn't you know it in July we connected again. We discussed went went wrong, and we both agreed that we were both at fault. That never happened before. Most of our issues were because of finances and him never making me feel as if he appreciative of me. The fights were ugly and we ended up hated the sound of each others name. Now I am confused because I am afraid of going back down that road with him again. I have noticed some changes, but we live in 2 different states and I think that is why I am okay with it, he is not up close and personal all the time. My fear is what if we do work it out and come together and it becomes the nightmare it was before?
